‘ALL SYSTEMS GO,’ GOAL MACHINE FORREST

1

JAMES FORREST admits it’s all systems go as Celtic attempt to emulate last year’s Invicibles campaign.

The winger netted his second successive double in the 4-0 Betfred League Cup win at Dundee to follow up his brace in the identical victory over Ross County in the Premiership at the weekend.

Forrest’s stoppage-time effort beyond Scott Bain was his seventh strike of the term – only one short of his total for the whole of last season!

The Scotland international, who lashed home the crucial winner against Rosenborg in Trondheim to help propel the Hoops towards the Champions League group stages, gave the credit to his form resurgence to boss Brendan Rodgers.

Forrest said: “I feel we have adapted well to the formations the manager has been making us play.

“Everyone saw that against Dundee. We put in a good performance and scored four goals.

“We’re buzzing and, of course, the most important thing was to get into the semi-final.

“We’re playing big games every couple of days and we’ve got the squad to cope with the demands.

“It’s a case of just keep going and we can now look forward to Ibrox tomorrow.”
