The difference is on the pitch they get away with it
I first saw Conor Sammon make his debut for UCD in 2005, my mate got arrested after the game for smacking him in the mouth, didn’t get charged, Sammon was a thug back then as well.

“Credit to their grit and fight” = they are poor and are prepared to cheat.

What we need to do is give them no hope by scoring early and often. We give these teams hope and allow them to score on either their first chance or one of their very few chances.
