CELTIC face the prospect of losing out in their pursuit of Italy Under-21 international striker Giuseppe Ambrosino.
The Hoops have been linked with the frontman who is on the verge of quitting Serie A champions Napoli, as CQN reported last week.
The news of Ambrosino’s imminent exit from Antonio Conte’s squad alerted the Parkhead side and Italian clubs Cagliari and Cremonese.
The in-demand 21-year-old forward has a decision to make and, according to local media, it appears he will opt to remain in his homeland.

TARGETMAN…Napoli’s in-demand striker Giuseppe Ambrosino.
The Naples-based sports outlet state talks have progressed between Conte’s title winners and Cremonese for the frontman. The Serie A new boys, who sealed promotion via the play-offs last season, are building for the forthcoming campaign and have already lodged a £2.5million offer.
Latest reports claim that Napoli have scheduled a meeting tomorrow with their top-flight rivals to thrash out a permanent deal.
Celtic’s plan was to take Ambrosino on a season-long loan with an option to buy which may not suit Napoli or the player.
