And so it begins

And do it begins.  For years we were subject to ‘Martin O’Neill leaving’ stories, as everyone from local pundits to Tory Party leaders wanted him to move south  Now they want Brendan to leave his beloved Celtic.

This is the reality of success, the alternative is anonymous failure.

I don’t know Brendan’s inner thoughts, but I know he invokes plans for years ahead at the club when taking to his employer. He may or may not be settled in Scotland, but he sounds it.

  2. I like your style BSR , however, on the other hand we need snow to stay light and our game to go ahead tomorrow or it could potentially be down to 6 points ( assuming they win tonight of course), going into the Glasgow Derby .

  3. I think St J could win tonight IF they are allowed to scrap and tackle without punishment, like they did against us last week. We all know they will get a man booked inside 15mins to set the tone and allow sevco to play their game. Unless the ref is from Luxembourg – the only time I recall watching a Celtic game and feeling fairly refereed.

Was watching The One Show tonight. Girl was in Eriskay and she was watching a game on their only football park. Team was resplendent in green and white hoops. Nice to know someone is carrying the message in the outer Hebrides.

  6. Huns hadn’t been in the St Johnstone box after 10 minutes, one long ball over the top and they get a penalty.

Anyway – with Brexit just around the corner, the “good ole days” are coming back apparently (!!!!)

  8. Thom the Tim,

Coldest winter…great line. I’ve been bitching about this long period of bitterly cold weather for months. No one listens. Then I met a pal who runs a large building company. He told me they can’t do external work below 4degress, as you may know. Taking that fact, this has been the worst winter for them in 30years.

But it may be jus our age, Thom.

  9. Tonight’s SPFL matches? More kick and rush football.

If you are attending an SPFL match this week, please remember to set your watch back 30 years….

  10. Had the misfortune to tune into the St Johnstone game. Ears assaulted by a chorus of the Billy Boys. 1-0 to Deidco. Cue a quick utilisation of “the changer” and selection of any other channel.

One positive change to the qualifying process next year on the Champions route is the removal of the immediate trapdoor out of Europe after our first games.

The losing teams in the first three rounds will have a playoff chance to reach the Europa League groups. The losing teams in the playoff round of the Champions League will continue to drop automatically into those same groups.

I’ve an idea whose good work that reflects. Others will begrudge credit anywhere.

The unseen Fenian hand at work again.

Surely St Johnstone keeper should have been sent off

  13. Tonight’s London Evening Standard has 5 likely runners & riders to replace Arsence ( Eduardo didn’t dive against Celtic, even though I didn’t see it) ) Wenger. No mention of Brenden.

I wish it were still our only Derby, sadly we have the new club to contend with these days. Be nice to go into it 9 points clear and with a full weeks rest too. However, bad weather for remainder of week could potentially give us a fortnight off if it’s as bad as they predict. Hopefully not.

It has indeed been the coldest winter in recent times, however, i much prefer this to the 6 degress, sodden wet nonsense of past few years.

Having not seen LES tonight, I can only guess that Luis Enrique is on that list???

  17. Just watched two minutes of the Sevco game and thought St Johnstone looked as though they were expressing their anger at Brendan`s comments by showing that they can employ their non-trying game against Sevco as well as against other teams.

    JJ

PS even in those two minutes, it looked like Sevco will win easily.

It may be that against us, teams think they have no chance so play very defensively. They think they have a chance against Sevco and go for it. As Sevco are not a bad side, this tactic ensures there is much more space for them to run into than we are afforded.

  18. Not impressed with either team tonight but I’ll begrudgingly give praise to Triggers Broom FC for their 2nd goal. Looking like the bookies were right again, pricing St Johnstone at 6/1. Unfortunately.

  19. Pitiful effort so far from SJ, not entirely unexpected from a team full of Huns. At the Huns second goal, i think it was Davidson just let the Hun run through on goal having matched the first part of his run.

  20. Flicking through channels and BT sport has Sevco playing. I thought they were liquidated in January like died CL before them.

Naw, did that no happen, naw?

    Funny that!
