And they came in huge numbers to buy season tickets

546

Ticket officeThis morning’s images of a chain of people snaking around the Celtic Park ticket office and out towards London Road is remarkable. Even more so when you consider more people were buying season tickets online than queueing from the small hours to make sure they can support Celtic next season.

Frankly, I didn’t think we’d see sights like this until we saw a change in playing environment.

Season ticket sales, together with recent commercial deals concluded with Dafabet and Magners, puts the club on an enormously better financial footing, but the benefits extend beyond what we see today. Peripheral income, such as match day spent at the superstore and at kiosks, will have a corresponding lift.

Now if we get Champions League income on top of this………….

BMCUW hope you are well, haven’t seen you in a while. Mostly lurking at the moment, i dont have to moan on here i can do it to BT, hes a great shrink :-) Was good to see TBM a few weeks ago he always has great chat. When is the next hootenanny or have you decided to hold them abroad (dublin) looking forward to hearing the stories from that trip.

  5. I suggested on here a couple of years ago that we should have used the time of lower Celtic Park crowds to close the main stand and redevelop the stadium adding a top tier and completing Fergus McCann’s dream. That would have taken our capacity up to 75,000.

As usual everyone thought I was daft!

  6. Shirt ordered in a trim xxl..Auldheid canamalar winning captains et all, keep it going, our club and support will always be in your debt..right, back to lurking.

  7. I read on Sky website that Zlatan is to drop his bomb tomorrow. I hope he drops it o’er the Sooside and does a proper job too. I know am fantasising, but if he was to announce he’s to follow in the King of Kings footsteps and join the Famous Glasgow Celtic, there would be suicides on the Sooside, for sure…

Was it Lustig who played the superb log ball for Guidetti’s goal against Wales?

Zlatan toyed with the Dragons, before he went off for an early pint.

The Rangers (IL) CEO commented last week that there had been “significant exuberance” in the Sevco directors area after the penalty shoot out. Make of that what you will.

Not the usual decorum expected. More than that nobody knows for sure.

  15. WINNINGCAPTAINS@5:23

You couldn’t seriously consider an increase in capacity when ST sales were dropping to circa 40k (66%) – see TBB @3:49.

I actually thought we had ‘plateaued out’ and was so worried about half-empty ground that I suggested that, like AC Milan and many others, a 40k stadium should be our aim – I am of course delighted to have been proven wrong.

Regards stadium, having sat in ES2 for circa 25 years I would be happy with a smidge more legroom and better catering and toilets.

My daughter who is 21 was amazed at his energy.

Delighted he did ‘Winterlong’ which is one of my favourite songs.

He has such an extensive back catalogue that it’s impossible to play everybody’s favourites.

See he is in Belfast tomorrow then Dublin the day after.

Playing four dates in Italy in mid July and was hoping to see him in Lucca on the 16th, but won’t be there unfortunately.

My position on PL – the best CEO in the UK – but for balance I do not believe he is the best scout, talent spotter, manager or anything else he decides he wants to be in charge of – I am hopeful Brendan has the control of all football related matters

    ______

This is often stated as fact and it’s not the case.

Peter Lawwell does not sign players and he never has. The manager has always had the final say on players and Lawwell’s involvement is related to negotiating deals.

Not true, ask Tony Mowbray about Edson Brafied. He turned up at Lennoxtown in a Celtic track suit and a bag,BTM thought he was a guy who won a competition to have a tour of the place. Nobody had heard of him. A Peter Lawwell/John Park production,100%.

  20. WC

Please be guarded in what you tell him, if anything. He deserves nothing from this blog in my not so humble opinion.

  21. Neganon 2

The submission was posted rather than emailed with a hard copy in the post to Celtic a week ago on Friday.

Celtic were expecting it and had it arrived would have spoken by now.

It arrived the following Tuesday and although PL was on his holiday last week he was up to speed with developments.

Things changed for the good when CQN (mostly) crowd funded the ad in Tribune de Geneve last Wednesday, annoyingly enough for the SFA on the day of their AGM.

Of course CQN knew what they were going to say as we had been to see them on this very subject and were able to push the the thing forward.

Obstacles have been put in our way and have been tongue biting for a while on this but more tomorrow!

Holidays are over, suggested content has Ben to and frowed so there is buy in all round. If anyone then says I am not happy because then it can be levelled against them that everyone else only proceeded on the basis that they previously bought in to the narrative.

When the club speaks our tshirts are going to sell faster that season tickets this morning so get yours tonight…

So to cut s long story short, yes they will.

Saw Neil Young twice in the 90s,both at SECC as it was called at the time.

The first gig he played with Booker T as his backing band and the set-list was full of Neil’s more accoustic numbers.Harvest Moon wasn’t long out so there were a few from that as well as old classics the highlight, for me,being Old Man and Like A Hurricane.

The second show had Crazy Horse and the set-list was almost completely different.Watching Powderfinger live is something I will never forget.

The guy is a unique musical genius and has gifted us one of the very best back catalogues in popular music history.

    Long may he run.
