  1. Just back from the pub after enjoying a FANTASTIC Celtic result. Apparently there’s been some doom and gloom on CQN? No surprise to me. There’s people who make a point of coming in here every day and accusing Celtic fans of being idiots, mugs, fools, etc. These people are nothing but prick trolls. Never Celtic supporters. Worse than huns and SMSM whores. But for some reason they get some support on here – go figure….

I hope this result chokes them.

  2.

    Excellent Spanish Referee Tonight…

  3. Fabulous result from a performance that got better as the game went on.

Brendan is simply top class at what he does. The whole club is extremely fortunate to have such a great manager. He will make history with us!

    Onwards and upwards!

  4. May the record books show Anderlecht 0 Celtic 3 *

    *didnae play well some said

    :)))))

I for one am over the moon, we had to go over there and get a result to be looking good for Euro football after Christmas, we’ve done exactly that and if that’s not enough for you tonight, there’s nothing Celtic can do for you:))

Well played Celtic and well coached Brendan, special mention to Cris Davies who every time Celtic score looks like he one the lottery:))

  5. I only saw the last ten minutes, travelling to Watford from Newcastle, caught up with highlights. Ntchams pass to Kieran was sublime, then the cross and finish, superb.

86% pass completion, not good enough obviously:-)

3-0 away from home in the CL, all day everyday good enough for me.

    Well done Bhoys

  6. Just about peeled myself back of the ceiling .

As the game went on the more we became dominant . Top performance ,especially from our central defenders .

Being a pessimist on European nights I had a mad tenner on Celtic & PSG double .

I don’t know where I dreamed up for them both to win -1 goal , but I had an even madder £5 at 19/1 . Happy days ;-)))

Cowiebhoy . Good news from Canada . Thumbs up . HH

  7. Cowiebhoy. Many congratulations.

Over the years I have been used to 3-0 scores away from home in Europe. All defeats.

Yes, we need reduce the number of times that we misplace passes but every other aspect of our play tonight was impressive, especially our possession, control and finishing.

I hope that tonight will be seen as the night that we grew a defensive spine which will strengthen over the next few years. Something that we have lacked for many years.

    Happy days. Enjoy.

    Good night from Montizana

  8. Great result.

We have a target now to aim for in order to achieve euro football in the new year.

    Caravans are burning tonight.

  9. Staggered at some of the negative comments on here. Have any of you ever seen us play an away game in the CL before?

It is usually comedy cuts stuff. We’ve had some horrific doings where we have literally struggled to put together three passes all match.

Tonight we dominated possession, chances, and goals versus the champions of Belgium. We were never going to roll them over like we do Ross County, Sevco et al, but, for the love of Henrik, give Brendan and the lads some credit…

(I bet Tierney, Simmunovic, and Boyatta are on the radar of a few more clubs after tonight too…)

  10. Doc oh aye it was :).

Turkeybhoy you are normally the one shouting at me.

Are you trying to take me job at CQN?

  11. We started slow, but controlled that game for most of the 90 minutes. I canny wait to see us do similar in Allianz Arena. Same score as tonight, and I will book up for Kiev in May. :)))

  12. Great result with third goal icing on the cake stuff.

We can complain about first 25 minutes if people wish but over the course of the 90 we preformed well enough to win by three.

Very enjoyable result and at full time that’s all that matters

  13. Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong could be set to miss Scotland ‘s crucial World Cup double header after picking up an injury on Champions League duty.

Record Sport Online understands the midfielder has been struck down with a calf problem and is now a major doubt in what could be a double blow for a club and country with Scott Brown also limping off in Belgium.

Armstrong was an unused sub as the Hoops cruised to a 3-0 victory over Anderlecht in Belgium with goals from Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair.

The former Dundee United man has been pivotal in a rejuvenated Scotland side and his absence would be a devastating blow for national team boss Gordon Strachan.

  14. I’m sure everyone is delighted with the result tonight, even those who have criticised the performance. We began shakily and nervous, especially N’Cham. Lots of ‘unforced errors’, as they call them in tennis, a better team might have punished us during that period. However, we survived it, scored and grew in confidence. The fabulous pass from Ollie to KT certainly helped in restoring his confidence. Dedryck and Jozo were solid and that, I believe, inspired the team. We just didn’t seem as fragile in central defence. We all know it has long been a problem for us in away European games. Each and every one of the players worked hard, determined to get a result. Three goals did not flatter us, indeed it could have been more. Especially pleased for Boyata, a real GIUY to the hovering (Yoo hoo!..I’m here…) Alex McLeish. He was excellent, they all were in the second half…but don’t get overexcited because a few guys complained about the performance in that first half. Be honest, at the beginning, how many of you thought, “Oh no! Please, not again!”? Remember, we have seen that particular movie often enough in the past. Now we look forward to the double-header against Bayern…bring it on. Well done Brendan and the bhoys…and to the fans–we heard you guys, loud and clear…

I think that`s the nub of the matter.

In the first half we were in control.

Was our goal ever really threatened ? I don`t think so.

If that`s the case , then our performance can scarcely be described as poor.

Below par ? Yes perhaps. But not poor.

  16. A lot of fans are moaning, including myself,of the giving the ball away a lot in the first half, the main culprit, being Nitcham, but it’s a good result, and that’s what matters, yours truly Jimbob,1943,ie, TIMBHOY 1 and 2

Congratulations on the birth if your grand daughters Grace and Sadie (the latter means something to me name wise :-)) ) especially on the night Celtic win away in Europe.

Still euphoric about the result tonight. Anyone offering any criticism can go and play with the traffic. 3 (that’s three) zip against the champions of Belgium. Don’t kid yourself that you are a Celtic supporter. Real Celtic supporters are celebrating our progress under our brilliant manager and his backroom staff. We can now talk about our chances of sneaking a runners-up spot instead of just being happy at banking €30+ million.

    Hail! Hail! Celtic

  18. Paul67

Ffs it’s desperate on here now mate. There are genuine Tims called out frequently as monkeys and anything criticising Celtic is seen as a comment from a Hun.

We’re all absolutely delighted with tonight’s result but up until the goal we were absolutely awful in the first half. Calling this out was called out as being supportive or indicative of the views of the TV panel.

    Utter nonsense.

  19. Celtic were excellent despite the first half scepticism from Chris Sutton who is just another supporter that has to ‘work’ for BT.

Our pot 4 side blew away pot 3 and the margin was just about right with a 0-3 even if all results go to the way of CL filtration, we might even afford to be able to lose at 0-2 in the final game in Parkhead.

SMSM will scour for the negatives so we’ll ignore them and take the money, that each goal and point will bring.

As predicted Ntcham was pivotal and his physique preferred by BR in this type of game paid off in the end with Anderlecht run off their feet a bunch of Celtic players were all in the box in case Scott Sinclair’s icing rebounded

Lustig, Simunovic, Boyata, and Tierney were superb and if this slump continues into 2018 who knows what can happen in Europe.

Thought the referee could have started a riot at the end?

This is what Tom English said in his half time analysis:

“…In a Champions League context it’s second-rate stuff. Ncham (sic) gave it away four times in the first 15 minutes, Sinclair gave it away, Rogic gave it away. It was an epidemic of misplaced passes. …Anderlecht haven’t been up to much. Celtic’s goal was a moment of beauty dropped into a load of rubbish.”

Maybe he’s angling for a job on The Guardian, where being sniffily patronising to everyone outside of the EPL is a prerequisite, but as analysis it was about as insightful as a badly-aimed half-brick.

I am THRILLED at that tonight. I don’t care about Anderlecht’s woes – they don’t turn into a crap team overnight and beating them 3-0 in their own gaff is a great result.

And a huge confidence boost. We have the best squad I have seen at CP for many a year, and the best manager for even longer. We needed a result in Europe just to give the team a bit of self belief, which I think they were lacking in the CL.

    Well, we got that tonight.

Onwards and upwards, Bhoys! I wish my old Da was still alive to see this – new blood pumping through the Celtic, pure, beautiful, inventive football as somebody once said, total crowd-pleasers throughout the team, defenders that can put plodding Huns 20 feet in the air FAIRLY, dominant at home and starting to get back up there in Europe.

And the Huns dead. He’d never have believed that.

These are days to cherish! And it’s just the start.

    HailHail!

    “You want negativity

    Ok

This must be the worst ever champions league group.

PSG a bunch of overpaid fancy dans,( I wonder how they would cope away to Stoke on a wednesday night in November),wait until Chelsea or Real Madrid wipe the floor with them

Bayern ,a bunch of has beens, never beens…what have these guys ever achieved

Anderlecht, A pub team, how did they get into the competition ?

Celtic …well enuff said, backwater league,no competition after their old rivals were dumped out of the league because of conspiracy involving the Vatican and the Kremlin

Sell Tierney now before his form dips

    That negative enough”

    —————————————————————————————————

    Nowhere near negative enough.

Tell us how bad that Dublin GAA team is and I’ll give it negative pass marks :-)

  22. Name a better Celtic result away in Europe than Anderlecht 0 Celtic 3???

    Wonderful, Magical Scott Sinclair for#3

MSM don’t know what to do. Were obviously expecting us to lose.

Richard Gordon resorted to mentioning Rangers win v Lyon ten years ago!

  24. Just back from watching game in pub ,haven’t read back watching ITV champ league highlights.

Why has any club paid any money for David Luis never mind mega money. I think he is worse than Rafael !!!

  25. HT

I don’t think we were awful, in the first half we weren’t great, but awful, Dearie Me, we were up against the Belgian champions away for home and looking to find our feet in the game, granted a fair few of our passes were crap, we looked nervous imo and we should have gotten to grips with things quicker, but to call us awful is awful imo.

The longer the game went on the better we got, I am astonished that someone who goes to all the games can see things like you have,

THIS WAS THE BELGIAN CHAMPIONS WE WERE UP AGAINST TONIGHT, THE BELGIAN CHAMPIONS, THAT WOULD BE THE BELGIAN CHAMPIONS…not some run of the mill hun team FFS
