  1. Was so critical about 70% possession in the first half and the fact that the majority of it occurred just in front Celtics 18yrd line but hey ho

That 70% possession showed through in the 2nd half where Celtic looked the vastly superior fitter team and converted that superior fitness into Champions League away goals

Anyway I hope that Lennon can show a bit of humility on Saturday and bow down to Brendan and accept that his team were better prepared than anything he put on the park

Being a Rebel does swf for Celtic FC

Doubt very much you will find that full article in the English editions of that socialist rag in the morning

Scottish edition will have it though as Ewan Murray wrote it from a computer not sitting that far away from Celtic Park or Ipox

  3. Great result, first half possession could have been better IMO, 3 great points, Euro football after Christmas looking good.Back 4 played well and GK.MOTM Jozo

I was born and brought up in Blairdardie, went to St Ninian’s, but my ma and dad came from Donegal and county Dub, Loughlinstown, and were in Singer Street and Second Avenue just in time for the Blitz.

Still got a load of rellies up Shakespeare Ave, Brook Street, Lilac Avenue, all Kellys and Gallaghers.

Duffys down Yoker, Boyces up the posh bit – Drumry Road I think.

I had a magical growing-up in Dalmuir – Blairdardie was as boring as hell so went there every chance I could!

Oslo is green and white anaw!

    I fell for it.

Every cloud has a Silver Lining – because of Arnold I witnessed Celtic winning 0-3.

    That is priceless.

Stay well away from Milton, Dumbarton, Arnold. scamming barstewards, IMO.

    Dunno why we bother,tbh.

Well, that would have been an understandable reaction from reading some of the comments. Quite happy to admit our ball retention might have been better-which might have caused problems on another night-but obviously we now know how to get it back PDQ!

A quite outstanding result, delighted for the players and management, everyone who travelled-and everyone who didn’t!

I’ll need to find a highlights package in the morning, but grateful thanks to LYMMBHOY for the links to the goals.

In just over one year , Brendan has transformed us from also rans to contenders in the competition in which we belong.

Losing the Liverpool job would have been confronting for him.

I have the sneaking suspicion he would love the opportunity to stick it to them.

    ….have been in touch, again….

They have updated their previous prediction….

of, Celtic winning this seasons, Europa League trophy.

They have warned that, Celtic should hope to steer clear…..

of, Porto FC, or we’ll be spooked, again.

The did hint that, if, we steer clear of Porto FC, we could…..

and, probably would, contest the Europa League final with…

the Sporting hoops from Lisbon !!!

Last night was jist grand, grand, grand. Thank you.

Just to counter any complacency….how many cheated trophies have been stripped ?

When does Lawwell’s letter, actually arrive at the SFA ?

    Eye’s on the real prize……

or, wull yeez awe look the other way,…..

noo that a, manager less pub team fae Belgium has been skelped ? ;)

    ……oot.

  15. Great Result last evening…

Really proud of the Team. The preparation and tactics were spot on.

Using a Glasgow Derby to prepare for a midweek European game, how we have come on.

Our aggression against a big athletic Belgian side was excellent to see but I’ve always said it, to get a result in the UCL you need quality. The execution of the first goal was top drawer.

Well done Brendan and the Bhoys…

Execution of first goal reminded me of McStay’s defence-splitter to Morris,first-time into the box and Macca, back of the net. Other side of the pitch, mind.

  17. BMCUW…

Any goal against them is brilliant but that was very special:)))

The team took some criticism last night when we were trying to play possesion and stretch Anderlecht – not easy to do but like the Maestro could do – we stretched them and found the space and when you have a great striker it paid dividends.

    Hail Hail

  19. Re Complainers.

If memory serves me correctly even the Lisbon Lions misplaced some passess in 1967 when gubbing Inter in the heat of Lisbon ?

If CQN was about back then….would some have slagged off Celtic ?

As recently as last Saturday the current Celtic team Brendans Bhoys, also misplaced some passess against The Huns when gubbing them 2-0.

I don’t remember too many folk on here slagging Celtic after we gubbed the Huns last Saturday, and we had a few misplaced passess during that game ?

I came home from the pub last night, and I only read back a couple of pages that had been posted AFTER the game…FFS ! That was enough.

I will refuse to read back as to what may have been posted on here at the time of Celtic misplacing passes during last nights 1st half.

I too some misplaced passess, especially from NCham, but I didn’t go nuts at the pub tv…I shouted words of encouragement, likewise Rogic and Roberts who were posted AWOL in that 1st half imo ( I posted that last night)…I shouted encouragement at both of those Celts in the Pub.

Ive yet to see “The Perfect Football Performance” from ANY team whereby there are NO misplaced passess at some stage. Maybe some folk forget how young some of Celtic players are…Rogic, Roberts and N’Cham are young…and are still learning under Brendan and his staff….FFS all I ask is that folk cut them and the other Celtic players some feckin slack ?

    Rant over.

  22. Bring on the Hibees,

I hope Scott Brown’s injury gets better real damn quick, however we have plenty of Bhoys who can do a job if Scott misses out a game or two ?

Although starved of the ball at times…The Griff was superb in his commitment to the cause, and his workrate was superb…maybe his Calf problems have gone for good ?

just a thought, we lost 5 goals v PSG….but two of those goals were a dodgy penalty award imo…and an own goal.

Bayern lost 3 goals to PSG last night ( I dunno yet if any were a penalty or OG ?), but assuming they weren’t….are we near Bayerns level at this stage of our Development under Brendan and his staff…if so….the next few years will be even better !

  23. SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 28TH SEPTEMBER 2017 12:26 AM

I have read hundreds of posts complaining about negativity, crying and lack of joy amongst CQN posters.

Trouble is I cannot find many posts that fit the complaint.

Most of the critical ones I have seen had 3 components

    1) An honest recognition that we were poor in link up play when trying to leave our defensive zone

    2) An equally honest recognition that we improved greatly in the 2nd half, and, most importantly….

    3) A great deal of joy in a fantastic result that will be long remembered.

I have not seen one post saying that was horrible and I am taking no joy in this.

We could start two fights in one empty hoose here.

    —–

In my opinion, a very sensible analysis of the comments made.

In the cold light of day my opinion on last night’s game has not changed and my feelings of absolute delight at us winning 3-0 away in a Champions League group gave have not been diluted one iota by sleep.

    Get in there Celtic!!!

  24. KevJ you don’t seem to get any pleasure or enjoyment from Celtic, tell why do you follow them? Of course you have a right to your opinion but you’ve been spouting the same stuff for God knows how long, change the record or post something original. HH Hebcelt

We’re due a bit of luck in the draw but eff me I’ve never seen a worse team in the champions league

The game was a crime against football, we were really poor all over the park. Normally you have an off day in the middle of midfield like that and you’re dead and buried by half time. We made lots of errors in defence as well.

And we could have won by more. Go figure

    ………………………….

Never mind “go figure”….you should just GO !

    Are you a Hun ?

  26. So CELTIC40ME….According to you ” you have never seen a worst team in the CL”…..I take it that you never saw the Huns in the Champions League ?

    Go feckin figure !

  27. And there was Big McLeish all over the media telling Europe that Dedryck Boyata was Celtic’s ” Weakest Link” prior to the game last night…a manager ?…an expert pundit ?………..Many will now understand why a Chump like EBT McLeish is still unemployed as a so called “manager” ?
