ANGE HOMECOMING IN ‘SERIOUS DOUBT’

CELTIC’S trip to Australia in November – billed as Ange Postecoglou’s Homecoming – is in “serious doubt”.

The Premiership pacesetters are due to meet Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox outfit in the Sydney Super Cup, but the encounter could be in jeopardy, according to a report.

A-League sides Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers are also set to compete in the tournament, with the Glasgow clubs poised to meet on November 20 – their first-ever confrontation outside Glasgow – during a break while the World Cup Finals are played in Qatar.

However, a sensational claim from Sky Sports New Zealand correspondent Jason Pine states the launch was “premature”.

The journalist insisted there are ongoing issues with organisers that have not been resolved, putting the historic event under threat.

Pine wrote on Twitter: “Hearing football’s Sydney Super Cup may be in serious doubt. Unresolved issues with organiser escalating behind the scenes according to local sources. Launch may have been premature.”

The organisers have yet to respond to the shock report.
