FORMER Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been named as new Nottingham Forest manager – as CQN forecast last month!
At the time there were misguided reports that the City Ground club were lining up Brendan Rodgers while Nuno Espirito Santo’s position was under threat.
In Alex’s Angle column, Alex Gordon insisted the job would more likely be offered to Postecoglou – you can read it here – and today the Greek-Australian accepted a two-year contract.
Nuno was sacked last night after some public disagreements with the Midlands club’s Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Talks were held with Postecoglou this morning and the outcome is a deal that will run until the summer of 2027 and the one-time Hoops gaffer will be in charge of the team for the 12.30pm kick-off against Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday, according to a report in Sky Sports.
Marinakis is a known an admirer of the 60-year-old coach who was sacked by Spurs in June, despite winning the Europa League, the London club’s first trophy in 17 years.
In July, the Forest tycoon presented Postecoglou with a special award for being the first coach of Greek origin to win a European trophy.

TWO GREEKS AND A TROPHY…Ange Postecoglou receives an award from Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis in July.
Marinakis said: “Ange achieved it with a team that was not winning titles and was struggling. With this success with Tottenham, he made Greece proud.
“He is a very good coach and wherever he goes, he will make Greece proud.”
Postecoglou was named Celtic boss in the summer of 2021 following the trophyless Covid season.
In his two years at Parkhead, he won five honours – two Premiership titles, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup.
