ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been linked with a SIXTH raid on the J-League.
The Celtic boss is looking at midfielder Tomoki Iwata and he could be on his way to join the champions during next month’s tranfer window, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Postecoglou is well aware of the qualities of the 25-year-old anchorman who plays for his former club Yokohamo F Marinos. The Hoops gaffer returned to his ex-team a year ago when he signed striker Daizen Maeda in a £2million swoop.
The Japanese international frontman arrived at the turn of the year along with midfielders Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi to join up with striker Kyogo Furuhashi who had signed in late July in a £4.6million switch from Vissel Kobe.
Central defender Yuki Kobayashi was also recruited from the same team and his five-year contract will be activated on January 1 2023.
Iwata was voted the J-League’s most valuable player with his team last season as they clinched the title.
