ANOTHER NO-SHOW FROM BOYATA

THERE was no sign of Dedryck Boyata when Celtic flew out to Lithuania for tomorrow night’s Europa League first leg play-off against FK Suduva.

Coaching staff and players were at Glasgow Airport this afternoon, but the Belgian central defender was not part of the travelling party.

Boyata, though, did train with his Hoops team-mates at Celtic Park prior to the flight.

The 27-year-old World Cup defender missed last week’s Champions League exit against AEK Athens in the Greek capital after claiming his was injured.

Boss Brendan Rodgers, however, insisted the player was perfectly tfit to play in the crucial tie which the team lost 2-1 to crash out of Europe’s premier tournament on a  3-2 aggregate.

The player’s agent recently revealed his client’s unhappiness after the champions rejected a £9million bid from Fulham.

Boyata has 10 months remaining on his Celtic contract, but is likely to be sold before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

Sevilla and Fenerbahce have been monitoring the former Manchester City centre-half’s situation.

Jack Hendry was also left behind with an ankle injury sustained in the 3-1 Betfred League Cup win over Partick Thistle at the weekend.
