The Scottish FA has an interesting history of leaked emails. I hear. Today’s presentation, by that persistent thorn in the side of those who would rather awkward questions were not asked, Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, is surely a contender for Leaked Email of the Season.
The critical words, written by SFA chief exec Stewart Regan on 23 June to various people, read:
“In parallel to the above, could Rod Petrie please brief Charles Green confidentially..”
So on 23 June, Petrie and Regan were on the onside with a plan to “gain buy-in to the plan” from SFL clubs to parachute Sevco into the First Division, and the SFA chief exec had instructed that the chief exec of Sevco was “confidentially” instructed on this plan.
On 24 June Rod Petrie’s Hibernian took plaudits for their statement of intent to reject Sevco’s application to the SPL, adding that “This re-affirms the view of the Board that the sporting integrity of the SPL is of paramount importance”.
Petrie and Regan are on the main Scottish FA board, along with former Rangers director Campbell Ogilvie (president), Alan McRae (vice-president – although I don’t think that means he is in charge of vice), Ralph Topping, Tom Johnston and Barrie Jackson.
It is no wonder our earlier calls for resignations have been echoed by SFL chairmen today. Sack the lot of them, I’d say.

Celtic Mac – Gordon Smith on Radio 5. When asked about McCoist’s apparent preference for a parachute into SFL3, Smith replied, and I am paraphrasing here, ‘ for the sake of the SPL clubs Rangers need to start in Division 1.’ That is the thing I’ve always liked about Rangers, their altruism!
Artie Ziff: “Marge, I would appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone about my ‘busy hands’. Not so much for myself, but I am so respected, it would damage the TOWN to hear it. Good night.” (thumbsup)
second?
Podium for Wee Oscar????
Damn that Philvis is quick…..
Ernie (sorry JACK)
Loyalty – nice word that. How about staunch?
Anyways. Some of us prefer to keep to facts unlike YOU.
You have been agitating all morning. So much so I imagine you are typing from within the bowels of Gordon Smith right now.
Please publish the evidence to backup conclusions about our board.
Me. I expect a full transparent statement from our board the minute this situation has been settled. I expect them to outline the boards stance in relation to SPL vote (ah wait. They’ve done that). I expect them to outline their stance and opinion in relation to radars SFL vote. I expect them to outline their stance on any quickly drafted SPL2 that may occurr dependant on today’s vote. Is the time for that today? No. Not in my opinion.
Your comments re. our (by that I mean those who are Celtic fans) manager were disgraceful.
You actually just bore me now.
Bring back SuperSammy I say.

Now I’m really confused, ref my post
Mibbes Wiggy’s got dementia or summmit?
Moisty and Green want to start up in Div 3 (without a legal football club), and are dismayed at all this fuss from the SFA, SPL and SFL regarding what to do about them, but Moisty also thinks its best they just start up in Division 1 and is at Hampden today to beg for a vote for this….
And now we find that they aren’t the only ones being disingenuous. It was a surprise that Petrie had taken this approach, as Hibs FC and the supporters had a right to be aggrieved after managing their finances a lot more shrewdly than many other SPL clubs.

The leaked email from S Regan was sent to: Barrie Jackson; Jim Ballantyne; Rod Petrie; Alan McRae; Neil Doncaster; R Topping…
eddieinkirkmichael, no. Celtic had no prior knowledge of and did not agree to this plan. Quite the opposite, in fact.
This is precisely why I posted on the thread calling for everyone to buy season tickets that it was too early to celebrate and give SPL clubs our money.
Until we have a final outcome that either applies the laws to a tea, or perhaps the compromise of division 3 the clubs chairmen are not deserving of our cash and support.
The SPL clubs have the influence to end this farce and are not doing so.

Eddie, i think Ernie was being somewhat facetious he has been taking a bit of flack for questioning the board. I think there may have been the odd inference of his being from the dark side for doubting the boards motives. Basically anyone who questions the board is a Hun.

Etims rumour mill says
‘Right onto our number one signing target according to our discredited and extremely p*sh stained source. The man we want is Jordan Rhodes. The young Scotland international striker was scouted probably more than any potential signing in recent memory. Lenny has taken in many of his games and sees an absolute superstar in the making as do the other coaching staff and club scouts. What we have in our favour is one major factor. Young Jordan is a Celtic supporter and that as you all know carries a lot of weight. Yes, we need to sell before we can buy him as we understand the price, we have agreed a £4m fee plus add ons, is a snip based upon potential resale value in many years to come.
We have been told this signing will happen.’

The party line is that the hands of the Celtic board are clean in all of this.
It’s an article of faith.
Anyone who suggests otherwise, even by innuendo, is de facto a hun.
Don’t take it personally.

I’m not saying Whispering Ally is a liar, but I do think his underwear is prone to spontaneous combustion and have noticed that his nose seems to grow while he speaks. (thumbsup)

Must admit. I’m more interested to know who were all the recipients of that email.

Good article.
When this is over, one way or another the last few remaining doubting Thomas’s ( and Ernie ) will be shown, to have been nothing more than that.
‘De Facto a Hun’ , is like a new signing- Mark Hateley.
Fin75 – Damn that Philvis is quick…..
That’s what SHE said! (thumbsup)
Cheers Paul and rebuswad for the replys.
Can we now expect that in the near future Celtic will be among those supporting a no confidence vote in Mr Regan?
