The Scottish FA has an interesting history of leaked emails. I hear. Today’s presentation, by that persistent thorn in the side of those who would rather awkward questions were not asked, Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, is surely a contender for Leaked Email of the Season.
The critical words, written by SFA chief exec Stewart Regan on 23 June to various people, read:
“In parallel to the above, could Rod Petrie please brief Charles Green confidentially..”
So on 23 June, Petrie and Regan were on the onside with a plan to “gain buy-in to the plan” from SFL clubs to parachute Sevco into the First Division, and the SFA chief exec had instructed that the chief exec of Sevco was “confidentially” instructed on this plan.
On 24 June Rod Petrie’s Hibernian took plaudits for their statement of intent to reject Sevco’s application to the SPL, adding that “This re-affirms the view of the Board that the sporting integrity of the SPL is of paramount importance”.
Petrie and Regan are on the main Scottish FA board, along with former Rangers director Campbell Ogilvie (president), Alan McRae (vice-president – although I don’t think that means he is in charge of vice), Ralph Topping, Tom Johnston and Barrie Jackson.
It is no wonder our earlier calls for resignations have been echoed by SFL chairmen today. Sack the lot of them, I’d say.

So now Sevco has to qualify for SFA membership. If not it is out of the SFL.
But when do we hear of the SPL2 “by invitation only” league?

I agree but it was never going to be the case that pro football reject a club with potentially 50k paying punters.
There is still a huge risk of Sevco investors doing the walking away thing and of either not starting the season or not fulfilling fixtures.
It is the best we could expect in an imperfect world.
But I agree with your principles.

:))) Mibbes Minty will loan them his leer jet (del. missp.) to fly them around the SFL3 stadia, now that there’s no point in him using it to impress Joanna Lumley.

Div 3 was the best that was on offer.
This time last year, the prospect of talking about that would have had you certified.
You know that they would never die a death, div 3 is better than most would have dreamed of.
Let their humilation begin.

SPL 2 this year. I don’t think so.
By invitation next year? Again, I don’t think so. A lot will change in Scottish football in the upcoming year. The clubs have shown today that sporting integrity trumps bullying.
SPF
Cracked Crest anyone?
Today is a grand day but I still worry the sfa will pull some rotten rabbit out the hat even at this late stage. I am thinking in particular of their talk of league construction. Hope they can’t but so far they have broken every rule possible.
Anyway in glass half full mood, they are dead, gone.
So now that the SFL clubs have done the right thing there will be moves to set up an SPL2 in the coming days.
What a shower!
Who is going to agree to join the SPL2? Some of the 25 clubs who didn’t want them in Division 1? This is so far beyond a farce it is starting to get mind numbing.
Doncaster must go!
from the Dead Rangers site…
RANGERS’ future remains uncertain after the Scottish Football League clubs voted against the Light Blues playing in the First Division next season.
At a meeting at Hampden today, the 30 member clubs agreed to accept Rangers into the SFL but voted against the SFL Board being allowed to broker a deal with the SPL and SFA over new structures and procedures which would also include Rangers playing in Division One.
It is now understood that on the back of a briefing SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster and SFA counterpart Stewart Regan gave to clubs last week that the SPL will introduce a plan for SPL 2 – which would include Rangers – and invite existing Division One members to join.
They must be so proud having the best stadium in Div 3.
Well, I think they have a stadium!
I just heard a bit of the presser from Hampden there. Salivating hacks unable to keep their emotions in check. Two of them sounded suicidal as they spat out their questions. Sod them – the sooner they are laid off the better … we don’t need their lies and scaremongering any more.
Well done to all the SFL clubs who voted to uphold their position on new clubs starting at the bottom. I reckon Sevco will be gone in two months. No fitba at Ibrox next season.
new article posted.

Canamalar – apart from them disappearing forever, the best result we could have hoped for was the Newco going into SFL 3 and that is what is being proposed.
I take the point about Spartans and others waiting in line to apply for the vacant spot, but Newco was always going to be accepted into the SFL.
If they had been voted into the SPL or SFL1, then I would have agreed with you about the game being completely corrupt.
It will be interesting to see if Donkey/Raygun attempt to implement SPL2….I think our club should now make a statement calling for a vote of no confidence in both officials. Then go after RC Ogilvie.
I’m not celebrating….yet!
T4
Well done all the SFL clubs who voted No and showed real integrity when it was most needed.
Maximum respect to the club that voted against them getting in at all.
Now Ogilvie (especially), Doncaster and Regan must be removed from their positions.

Well imagine how bad the quality of games are going to be by dropping down 3 leagues from the SPL.
It will be better, as there should be quite a gulf in class between us and the diddy clubs.
I hate to burst your bubbles.
If you think Raygun and Doomcaster do not have a PLAN C up their horrible sleeves, you are sadly mistaken.
They could see this coming.
Step forward Henry McLeish. Step forward, ‘Put the past Behind us, we now nned to take this opportunity to restructure.” Step forward, Rangers in the top flight sooner than you think, debt free, without sanction and an intact History of titles.”
