We all thought the title was about to be delivered yesterday, until a late goal at Aberdeen put celebrations on hold. Celtic can be caught on goal difference. If we lose our five remaining games by four goals, and Newco win theirs by five goals, we’re done for. For now, anticipation builds.
It is not clear what games were being played by Brendan Rodgers on Friday, when he told the media that either the players or the manager needs to be changed. But it was clear he wanted to provoke a reaction in the players, which was there for all to see, for the first half against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Without Jota or Nicolas Kuhn, and with Greg Taylor back at his best, Celtic got the job done. Spectacular strikes from Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers grabbed the headlines, but the tap-in from Daizen Maeda was a magnificent team goal, while the fourth from Reo Hatate was almost as good.
Viljami Sinisalo was denied a clean sheet by an excellent effort from Danny Armstong. We’ll give the Kilmarnock player the credit and not suggest his effort was a wayward cross…..
With the job done by the break, the second half had an end of season look to it until Anthony Ralston dropped the shoulder to create space and score in the final minute of the game.
A word on Kilmarnock. Celtic struggle when teams press them high up the field. We struggle to progress the ball out of defence and can be forced into losing possession in our final third. Kilmarnock did not do this. They are by a margin the worst team to visit Celtic Park this season. Their six point lead over St Johnstone looks less secure than it should.

IF we clinch the League Title against Dundee Utd, our next League game is against the Huns at Ipox. I wonder IF the Huns WILL APPLAUD The CHAMPIONS onto the the Ipox Pitch ?
*No laughin Jimmy but they did that before lining up for a cup game against us and clapped our players on to the pitch in view of us reaching the ECWC semi finals the previous Wednesday, they then set out tae gub us, ok only 0-2 but this was the wullie henderson show

Yeah – absolutely glued to it!
Might need to work on your goal difference calculations but I’d be well shocked and disappointed if it even came anywhere near that coming into play.
Well done to all on another title and – if I’m not mistaken – 30 consecutive seasons finishing in the top two. Can’t be too many instances of that in the history of the game.

PARKHEADCUMSALFORD on 14TH APRIL 2025 8:53 AM
Tontine Tim, I was in the Jungle the night they missed the penalty, and we went up the park and scored 3, in the last 13 minutes.
*aye me tae, my memories of that night are still stuck up front in my mind, as you are well aware that was the night the last episode of the Fugitive was shown both here and the states, we had to change trains at Hyndland as the huns were going to brigton while we were dispatched to Belgrove, so the banter was going back and forth on who would see if Kimble had killed David Jansen’s wife first.
In an unusual move we were playing into the Celtic end in the first half so standin in the Jungle around the halfway mark it looked as if henderson’s opener was offside plus we had a buzz bomb goal and penalty chalked off, there was also a request by Glasgow’s finest for no banners or flags to be displayed and yet their end was awash with them, wee dike plugger ones, union jacks, and french tricolours, one displaying the square, compass and “G”, while at our end a solitary tricolour was unfurled cue for a squad of polis diving intae the crowd and hucklin the poor wee lhad away, it was then a chorus of “you can shove your orange banners up your arse” broke out.
Anyway, back tae that penalty, and it was one, we started tae leave and hardly got a couple of feet when it closed up with the comments of “wtf do you think your going”, as you are also aware that big lump of lurpack, a hero around 15 months before when his big blooter won them the cup against us, thumped the ball off the underside of the bar, it bounced down on the safe side and then up again, andy penman was lining up tae wallop it and if he had it would have went right through the net landing at brigton cross so ferocious was his shot, but big kai yai yippee as they called him pushed andy out of the way jumping up tae heider it, it hardly had any pace on it tae the screams of “you cannae dae that”.
As you said we raced up the park and from a corner wispy bundled both Sorenson and the ball intae the net, still surprised that it stood, 5 minutes later from a free kick chopper thundered it bouncing off the wall but then placed the rebound high intae the net, 5 minutes later and the buzz bomb cut off a slack pass, rounded Sorenson and placed the ball intae the back of the net, as he ran down the enclosure touch line, some thug emerged from their end grabbed the shamrock corner flag and ran after him only for davie provan tae body check him on tae the running track where he was quickly huckled away.
We made our way jubilantly to Belgrove and sitting on the train when a right wee hun I knew of came on at high street with his bluenose pal, who seriously wisnae that bad, as he clocked me sitting there laughin he shouted, “don’t know what your laughing at tontine, up tae the penalty youse were all scheidting yersells” the whole carriage burst out laughin and his pall huckled him off tae another carriage, as the song says “oh happy days”.
Tontine Tim
Magic stories. 👍
Don’t know what our club can do regarding the fans leaving early ,maybe more standing areas ,also more lounges in the Lisbon and Jock Stein ends ,if there is spaces for them ,and the 2 ends of the main stand with restricted views needs to be addressed, they have the money just do it for fans sake .
Sorry Big Jimmy, didn’t notice you had already asked the question whether we’d get a guard of honour at ibrokes.
ok, we are going for a treble, still have to finalise that league, maybe while pushing to have more goals and highest ever goal difference, and a semi to get through,
but with 7 weeks to go, it all seems strung out now.
why was there the need to play so many fixtures during the deepest of winter, december and january were a joke, 2 games a week every wekk, midweek league games, why did we need to cram them in, particularly if we didnt have a mid-season break.
i get we have european games into late january, and maybe more next season, but now we are intobright nights, and good pitches, but we will only be playing at weekends,
seems daft to me, what was the point ?
I hope we get beat at Tannadice and win the league at the Bigotdome.

i like the idea of more standing areas, but even the rear of the north curve section emptied before the end of the game,
very noticeable that the area that stay and cheer, are the green brigade, the jungle bhoys, and the main stand.
fans surver will tell us …………. around 2027.
Timbhoy163
I think the restricted views in the main stand are due to the structure which can’t be changed. Could be wrong though. But we could do with more facilities in and around the park.

What about a Big Wheel?
I thought the powers that be would delay the fixtures until R2ngers fate in Europe was known.

GP (I think) on previous thread …
Really good post on matchday experience linked to early departures.
Respect.
Firmly brings a MUST HAVE to life from (maybe) previous perceptions of such improvements being a COULD HAVE or SHOULD HAVE.

The state I get into sometimes I’m better off with a Wagon Wheel. 🤣🤣
me and my daughter – nearly 40 years age difference, like to do quizzes and catch each other out with random facts. she is big on history, a wee bit fanatical about mary queen of scots and queen victoria, but where we differ is definately the generational answers, i havnt a clue who any of the influencers are, etc etc, and she doesnt know anything about football other than who john mcginn is.
but where we are in sync is, often people on the tv, not knowing what i would call common knowledge thinks, what is the capital of denmark being a recent example on tv, where the person answered oslo.
so richard osmans quiz just now.
4 tv and comedy persons in the chairs,
They are to place a dot on a map to this clue
“where was eric morecambe from ?”
that post royal correspondant, says i wouldnt know that other than it is up north, and she places her dot near middlesborough.
next up a comedian , picks a place near darlington.
next, another presenter, picks kent (ffs i thought
lastly though, another comedian, and she picks near birmingham, and says
“i had to just guess, i dont know who eric morecambe is”.
the world is getting stoopider.
meanwhile, ff is going ballistic because a sinn fein councillor , as part of a cycling funr raiser for mnd, was part of a group , that liad a wreath at ibox, in memory of Fernando Ricksen.
they are going crazy at the club for allowing this to happen, a sinn fien councilor no less.
welcomed up the marble staircase.
I think i will tell them he is actually doing due diligence for the 49ers group, sure san frans and sinn fein having almost the same logo, right enough.
Who’d be a football agent – me please
The 20 Premier League teams spent a combined £409.1m on fees, down from £409.5m in the previous period.
Meanwhile Scottish football lives on scraps from Sky tv
Watched Celtic’s training spin on Saturday against a woeful Kilmarnock. Sure we played nice football but easy to do when you have no opposition. It will be undoubtedly another treble as I cannot anything but yet another Scottish Cup heading to paradise and James Forrest back from injury to set new records at the Hoops and great to see Jamsie and Calmac our academy players reaching such career heights in their long loyal and hugely successful years at the club.
Daizen just keeps on scoring and the Japanese superstar who shipped a lot of heavy criticism in his early days at the club being a great athlete but lacking in football skills. His improvement level has literally gone through the roof proving all his doubters wrong. and also his value on the transfer market.
Cheltenham, the Grand National, Eggball and the Masters ……..phew what a contest that was and of course the Hoops bound for another treble.. Trying to find the time to see all this can be difficult.
Gene- agents work for players, they should pay them, clubs can employ agents to try and source a player, different scenarios
Dundee U,have work being done on the smaller stand. we used to get,so only thee stand behind the goal available. Around,4,000 I would. guess. 😥

Maybe they are all underrating wee Fergie even after he put Jose Mourinho out of Europe with a team of Hun stray dugs?
Then 2 days later wee Fergie went to big plush and pampered Parkhead and gave rich bhoy Brendan a calling card saying “EXPECT US” next season when he gets some of his own better stray Hun dugs recruited.
Looking at immediate [ might happens ] wee Fergie and his squad of stray Hun dugs put out Bilbao, by playing their horrible unplayable style.
Then the same again in Europa League Semi Finals, they wipe the floor with a Manchester Utd who couldn’t beat a carpet, and then ££Monied$$ investors start to notice the Hun rising in Govan and just how this wee Fergie interestingly wipes away Multi £Millionaire EPL sides to do so!
Whilst spoiled Tims sleep soundly.
Then the focus is on wee Fergie utterly mugging big gullible Ange-ball in Europa League Final, defeating 2 Multi Mega Monied teams to do so.
Remember only recently when the £20 million Huns put out £200 million Dortmund to get to the Europa League Final in Seville in 2022?
“OH,…OH,…THAT WAS JUST BECAUSE OF COVID.” Said the Tims.
See the Huns had an advantage over Tims during Covid because the Huns knew that wee krankie lied about EVERYTHING including all of the Covid ramifications.
Where as the Tims saw wee krankie as some sort of saviour vs the big bad English and they believed every word that krankie said, even though kranke and salmond tried to put all Tims in jail because of the OBAFA Tim stitch up thingy.
You could not make that up! Deary me.
Then back to wee Fergie and the very interested Monied Investors start to think to themselves, “Lets throw a few bones to this wee Fergie guy and see what happens!”
Ching Ching Huns? vs Sleeping Tims?
If the Huns win a European trophy…and in the background…the sleekit snp/greens will find more money for even more cycle lanes that no one will ever use and they will be built around Parkhead….and then Parkhead will slowly empty.
Especially in an era were a straight answer is as rare as Hens teeth!
You were told to not vote for sleekits and you didn’t listen.
Seats are emptying earlier at every game and its got nothing to do with fans being entitled.
Its got EVERYTHING to do with a certain majority of Celtic fans who vote for snp/greens and think that they are landing a glove on the ESTABLISHMENT.
In Scotland the snp/greens ARE the Establishment, and the steal all of your money with ease..
That is why cycle lanes are being built near Parkhead and totally screwing with fans visits to Parkhead.
Its being done by design from snp/greens and Celtic fans are oblivious to what effect their vote is having on Parkhead.
The Scottish Establishment are emptying Parkhead and Celtic fans are blaming other fans who are leaving early because of the utter choas caused by snp/green cycle lanes around Parkhead.
ZERO monies available for free School meals for hungry Scottish Children, but hundreds of millions are available for Parkhead cycle lanes.
And Celtic fans either cant or wont join the dots and EXPOSE the cycle lanes RACKITEERING outside Parkhead stadium.
Why not spend hundreds of millions on cycle lanes around Ibrox?
Dinae bother …
The botherer

to be fair, they will both be competing for 2nd place next season.
If you look at the 70s Photos of the old Main Stand you will notice how big it was with no pillars at each end ,who’s idea was it to reconstruct to its present shape,so if that can be done then ,why can’t they reconstruct back to its original shape, the present stand isn’t on par with the old one ,who’s idea was it to change.

Great link.
Reflecting (albeit from today’s perspective) on the design decision to give the press the best vantage point in British football.
What were they thinking?
Damn those Tartan trewed, and kilt wearing SNP members. Cunningly building cycling lanes around Celtic Park to lower the crowds.Ochone,Ochone !!!!.
Next they will be putting Kool Aid in the Bovril.
