My thought on looking at our potential opponents this morning was ‘Anywhere but Warsaw’. Our man Zbyszek tells me Legia were awful in the first leg in Warsaw against St Pat’s, where they drew 1-1 courtesy of a late goal, but we’ve been there. Henrik Larsson & Co. drew 0-0 against St Pat’s at Celtic Park before winning 0-2 in the return leg. St Patrick’s have a big job ahead if they are to progress.
A trip to Ireland on Champions League qualification duty for the second year running would suit Celtic, especially our Irish-based supporters, but my money is on a more testing trip to Poland; Ronny’s pulse should have quickened on the news.
Zbyszek doesn’t reckon have what it takes to eliminate Celtic. All being equal, that may be the case, but summer football will be unpredictable for both clubs.
I am, of course, being completely disrespectful to KR Reykjavik, who we annihilate next week.

We completely controlled and dominated that match without playing well. It was a dry night. I would expect we’ll win by 3 or 4 on Tuesday.
Not confident for Legia though. Particularly if we go there to attack and I would expect RD may well do.

Good afternoon from a scorching Nordrhein Westfalen. The Legia/St Pat’s draw is a difficult one to decide on. My head says St Pat’s but my heart says Legia as I would probably be able to get to that game from here, seeing I fell off my bike on Sunday night and apparently fractured my radius, to be confirmed next week. I cannot work and that would give me free time to go to the game.
Looking at the results last night the name of S Moses Daddy caught my eye, who scored a hat trick for Dukla Trencin against Vojvodina. He is is a 5′ 6″ left winger who comes from Nigeria and was with Ajax who failed to sign him permanently – they should have stuck with him instead of Derk.
BTW Awe_naw, the injury will not prevent me going to Hamburg so will see you next week. I’ll e-mail you later.

Think it’s a tough draw for us. But, to be honest, if you got Legia in the group stage you’d be delighted, so if we are serious about the CL we need to be able to take care of a team like that.

Haven’t heard of anything Celtic related. Just had a look at the league and thought he could fit our profile. Screaming out for a Miroslav Klose type player.
I’ve seen Legia a few times in recent seasons and I’m impressed by Radovic. He looks like the kind of guy who ‘makes things happen’. Caught the last 30 mins of the match the other night and was surprised at how St.Pats kept catching them on the break- they should have scored another goal before Legia’s late surge and subsequent equaliser. Still, I think the Poles will be our next opponents somehow.
