Appellate body CEO taking sides

826

So the chief executive of the appellate body awaiting a decision to appeal says, “It’s crucial with league reconstruction being such an important issue for the game that we now draw a line under what’s happened”.

According to the SPL Commission the president of that same appellate body was one of the “directors of Oldco [which]must bear a heavy responsibility” for what happened.

Responsibility, however, is an unnecessary concept for the chief executive of the appellate body, who told the media “It’s not about trying to find scapegoats to take responsibility for what’s happened in the last 12 months.”

Note use of language, those responsible are now “scapegoats”.

Scapegoat, def: A person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

Let’s not look for scapegoats.  Instead let’s stick to who Lord Nimmo Smith’s Commision blame, “the directors of Oldco”.  Including the appellate body’s president.

The appellate body is unfit as an appellate body and as a football association.  SPL clubs must look for a new playing environment.  Let the SFA and SFL run the grassroots game. They appear to want this anyway and I am sure SPL clubs will flourish when no longer restricted to opposition from Scotland.

  2. The finger in the dyke voodoo economics of someone like Chuckles Gruen was never going to work but I’m sure their new orange strip will be a bit hit in the backwaters of Scotland where folks still point at planes..

I have enjoyed reading your posts since you joined the blog.

Your words have inspired many of us.

now lets get ready for fake over part 2

sevco 5088 unaudited accounts posting a £7 million loss with 38000 season book holders

    another world record ;-)))

logmuir and the msm in full overdrive that sevco 5088 should be fast tracked to spl

(all because we need them in the spl asap to save the game)

the sfa ceo wanting everyone to move on for the good of scottish football

the final part will be whe the spl board sign off the LNS report

then when the hordes are back the mibs will be called to arms on orders from the sfa

we cannot complaine as we have already been down the same road the last 10

THE STENCH FROM HAMPDUMP WILL LINGER FOR MANY MORE YEARS TO COME

  7. The Rangers Football Club have reported an operating loss of £7m although it says “extraordinary progress” has been made.

Figures for the last seven months of 2012 reveal a pre-tax profit of £9.5m although that was down to a one-off accounting credit of £20.5m.

    lol!

    Stupid, stupid zombies…

  8. Extrapolating Sevco’s figures to a year, their annual running costs are somewhere in the region of £28m.

Unless someone sponsors 3rd round Scottish Cup ties involving tribute acts to the tune of £10m next season, I suspect another round of Jelly and Ice Cream to be in the offing some time soon.

  9. The club said season ticket sales and average home league attendances were among the highest in the UK.

The Argyle Street McDonald’s get a fair few punters through the door as well. A pity they only get an average £3 from each of them right enough…

  10. I suppose only losing £7 Million compared to getting liquidated and oweing Tens of Millions is “extraordinary progress”

    lol!

  11. Miki67, Wonderful heart felt expression of true courage, keep strong.

Interesting that Sevco have released interims to Dec 2012. Especially as they weren’t exactly flattering.

Why? Well as per I look for the wiser CQNers to set us straight but…

    .

I believe in the First year of trading, a company can select their trading period.

Sevco’s may well be Jan-Dec, a fairly standard trading year.

It also means in two years time they could have three years audited accounts, allowing them full membership of the SFA and possibly qualification for UEFA competitions.

Interesting move by Mr Green! There’s method in his madness, no.

  12. I hear Challs is making a movie..

“Carry On Up The Divisions” With Sid James as Steakbake and Frankie Howard as Challs himself and Kenneth Williams as Ian Durrant, should be a hoot…

  13. Valentine's Day on

Look’s like Sevco will need another

    share issue…………….the hun’s won’t

    fall for that…..will they?

  14. New Klub – and it’s in debt as well……………….

    Must be a hun tradition.

just what i was thinking mate :-))))

sevco have good the same buissness model as the last spl club that went into liquidation

thet are in trouble all right

the investors will want a dividend on year end

unless some rich steel company come in and fund it with money

if they fail at first chance to reach spl and run at a loss they will be bust

the fine details will all be out in the open when the real audited account surface

  16. Chairbhoy

Three years audited accounts not Chas’s fantasy island version is the requirement for top table membership I believe..

Come to think of it when was the last time The Rangers group of clubs and tribute acts actually produced signed off accounts??

  17. “If you look at the balance sheets at the end of the season you should see the strength of the two companies,” Green claimed.

“We are in the Third Division and Celtic are in the SPL and what I’d like you to do is promise me at the end of this season, when all the games are played, examine the balance sheets of the clubs and tell me which one is the strongest?

“Then let’s see who has got the strongest balance sheet.

“We’ve not got the debt that any of these clubs have and on the last day of the season I would really enjoy some clever financial analyst looking at the balance sheets and debt-to-equity ratio of every club in Scotland.”

    Glasgow’s Green & Whyte!!

  18. Chairbhoy

Don’t be silly. The rules will just be changed so they can enter the SPL when they are ready. They need at least another year in the lower leagues before they want to return to the SPL. I think they will be back in the year after next once they feel that they can compete.

The league is desperate to get them back in and when Hearts go bust everyone will shuffle up a place.

It’s all designed to suit them. I’m getting scunnered by the lot of it. No matter what happens they do what they want when they want. Nothing will change.

  19. Chairbhoy

I think his investors would have been promised accounts. Remember, Celtic only released accounts upto Dec 2012.

  20. burning money at the rate of £1m per month.

realistically no new revenue streams can come,

rather than bringing players in, surely they actually need to sell someone.

how long till they are trading while technically insolvent.

  22. starry plough @ 10:38,

Yes but I believe, though not certain, that you have flexibility on you first “Year” of trading.

You can adjust the reporting dates, if for instance you wanted a more convenient date than that your business start date.

i.e. End of Dec, or April 6th (UK’s Tax – end of year.)

It could afford them five extra months to register with UEFA.

You are probably correct and it is three FULL years audited accounts but it would be nice to get it verified.

  23. Saint Stivs

They are on the TV every week but not making much from it.

Sevco have also just signed two new sponsorship deals which won’t be included. The figures are bad but they have opportunities to make more cash. They are nowhere near our level but they only have to beat the rest once they come up to the SPL which they will do when they buy most of the other teams star players. They may be a long way off making a profit but they have never minded being in debt in the past. I’m sure Chuck is already looking at ways to cut corners whilst paying players after all it’s only a paltry fine. Why wouldn’t they risk it again?

    Juventus stuff .

Torino based media claiming that Quagliarella will be given one more chance on Wednesday night . Suggestion is he will be paired with Matri. Media think that Vucinic and Giovinco will not play.

Heard Chiellini on the radio this morning ———.

Forget the score in Glasgow. We want to win . You have to give 100% every time you play —– you should never think we’re 3 up and cruising ..

Juve blogs big on Bendtner being charged with drunk driving in Copenhagen..

One wag says ——” he was always fat and useless —-now he is a fat useless drunk “.

Another says —–” I don’t believe it —- you expect me to believe that Bendtner was moving? “.

Note the wee flurry of posts re Sion . Sion’s biggest crime was challenging UEFA and exposing UEFA’s we can do what we want arrogance..

To give a quick indication of how bad it is. Rangers could cut 12 players, each on 20k a week, & would still make a £10k per week loss

    +++++

Don’t know if he posts on here, but that’s an extraordinary insight into their recurring losses and how they’ll not be able to staunch the flow (of money out the door).
