Appetites wetted, consequence of intimidation

608

For some, short holidays are over. Batteries recharged, appetites wetted. The international break is not the period of worldwide travel and mockery it is for others. If you think you are champing at the bit to get to Celtic Park on Saturday, Scott Brown and Kolo Toure could probably sprint there from Lennoxtown right now.

For others it will be a chance to put disappointments behind them. A few (well, maybe just Moussa) will return having achieved new heights for their country. As ever, Tom Rogic will pitch with jetlag having played in two continents in the last six days.

You know they will all want to see and impress Brendan. This is the way of it at Lennoxtown right now. They are bursting a gut at training to get into the team. Be alarmed, Motherwell.

You know when your PR is on nationwide TV, intemperate and pointy, that you are in special hands. Asking the same question four different ways lacks courtesy (and a whole lot more), but PR can’t let the journo leave knowing he’s got what he wanted from the encounter. I’m no PR expert, but you know when you see someone mis-control a proverbial back pass.

Still angry at that newspaper’s attack on Celtic yesterday. I didn’t buy it, so didn’t realise at the time they printed Peter Lawwell’s home address. You know what you are doing when you publish someone’s home address.  It rarely happens because the consequences are so uncontrollable.

It’s one of the most insidious acts legally possible by a newspaper. It has an immediate consequence of intimidation for the family – that’s a given when you make the decision to print something several hundred thousand times.  Utterly deplorable.  We are back in the era where attacks were incited on Neil Lennon.

Apologies for issues accessing the blog recently.  I’m on the case.

  1. There has been an Internet campaign by the State Aid nutter to identify folk’s identities where they post under screen names and encourage the idea they are Rangers haters, which in turn puts not so friendly ideas into his hard of thinking readership.

He has also encouraged fellow bears to withdraw businesses of those he has identified if they are working.

So there are a good few good Tims out there who know what it’s like to have your location identified as to intimidate. I do and even though it’s unlikely there will be a follow follow up it does affect how you interact with others.

This intimidation campaign comes from one source and that is TRFC and Celtic and fellow clubs should be demanding via SPFL/SFA that TRFC take action to denounce such behavior and assist police to put it to an end.

That intimidation has gone main stream really should be the last straw and it has to be stopped or its thugs running our game. I saw one at the Warburton conference yesterday.

If….as is being suggested the roofs at Ibrox are in terminal decline and Celtic have indeed called for an independent report commissioned on the safety of said roofs before accepting any match ticketing…..then what Celtic have effectively done if this scenario is correct is potentially forced the closure of Ibrox.

Can the Huns afford to rent another ground (Hampden?) and pay for the required re-fit? Very doubtful in their current financial predicament.

Could the publishing of PL’s address be part retribution?

I do believe things are going to get ugly.

    Bring it on!

    _______________

I really can’t see the rent for hampden being paid

Did the SFA ever get compensation for Walter Smith?

As a regular visitor for work and vacation to Thailand for the last twenty odd years I would imagine that the country will grind to a halt.

He was a stabilising figure in Thailand for so long, he could break up demonstrations with the mere suggestions he was unhappy, had great respect from the Thai people.

His successor does not have significant respect from the people so will be largely symbolic going forward.

\I would imagine that if martial law was not in place there could be problems in the near future.

We’re booked for February so I would assume things will have normalised by then.

The North European league (looks suspiciously like the Atlantic league without the Portuguese teams) would be a god-send for Sevco.

No chance of European football (certainly not CL) via the Scottish league. Only way of them getting to our “Level”.

  6. Not only are Celtic enforcing the possible closure of ‘the Badgers Ford overlooked by the settlement of the Crucifix’ they are enforcing a potential cost of £970k per annum (if you consider it cost us £650k in 1994 and include for inflation). On top of that I imagine the club will also ask for payment of Hun attendance for 8k fans at Celtic Park @ £50 per zombie since they may not be able to now reciprocate a matching attendance. So that’ll be £400K now please.

Hopefully yesterday’s story is the straw that breaks the zombies neck.

If I want to post links without breaking house rules, I’ll post them.

If you don’t want to read them, don’t read them.

I hope this story re Ibrox is true. Let’s face it ,the only other way which would lead to closure of the cesspit is if fans are injured or killed by the decrepit roof.

Even then, if it was Celtic fans, the DR and it’s ilk would no doubt spin it as being the fans’ fault.

  9. mullet and co 2 on

Don’t know why anyone is surprised at the actions of The DR.

That paper were allowed to publish a front page headline that 11 Rangers players were assaulted at the Cup Final. Total lies.

  11. So if all the information coming out re. The Badgers Ford overlooked by The Settlement of the Crucifix is true just how do

    1. They pay the estimated £970k per annum for hire of Hampden (based on £650k as hired to us in 1994 at an ever age inflation rate of 2% over the period of 22 years since then)?

    2. They pay for the cost of estimated £10m plus to fix the 3 falling dome roofs?

    3. They pay £400k owed to us if not paid already?

    4. Pay existing costs that they cannot meet currently?

    5. Pay VAT owed for 2 quarters of this year.

    6. SELL THUS TO THE ZOMBIES?

And that is not taking into consideration any potential administration.

Please God can this be their final kick.

I doubt it will be but please please please please.

The Zimmerman’s Nobel Prize got a wee mention on Italian tele – soundtracked by Won’t You Please Crawl Out Your Window ( The Cutting Edge version . ) Good choice !!!! .

If order of presentation is a measure then italian State tele views Bob’s gong as being a more important world event than the death of King Bhumibol ( worth 40 billion $ according to italian tele )

The reason why the roof at Ibrox park is in need of repair could be the constant use by HM servicemen as they climb up and down ropes much to the delight of the assembled audience. As they performed to keep the massed throng happy, they forgot to tell the owners that no roof was damaged as they played their little games, much in the same way that the makers of movies inform the general public that NO ANIMALS WERE HURT IN THE MAKING OF THIS MOVIE.

I’m not annoyed, personally speaking I find the ‘don’t post the links, copy and paste, don’t give them the hits.’ routine a bit tiresome. Its the sortay playground pish the huns indulge in.

Someone else (may have been you) tried to pull the same stunt in here yesterday and was given short shrift….

You are aware, that by just talking about the DR and other assorted arse wipes, it may pique the curiosity of any number of lurkers to go and check out the articles themselves. Your indirectly encouraging them.

    How ye like them apples?

The lardacious Jabba lived way out in the Outer Rim on a planet called Tatooine .. Very apt that he ultimately fell victim to his hubris.

  18. Interesting times .The Tsunani for Sevco could be on its way.The portents that signalled its arrival last time are now looming large.Has anyone noticed that Phil has taken a sabbatical from writing his new book,to almost daily writing blogs on the Huns fortunes.JJ is writing daily of doom and gloom for them.Hector has now come back once again to claim what is owed to him.The cash flow or what there was of it has gone.To top it all of,we now have the added “Horseman”of the Ibrox roofs.

For the 1st time in 4 years of rumour and innuendo,I believe the end is coming.Administration will trigger the points deduction which would relegate them,at best. They could not afford to play out of Hampden, ground sharing with say St Mirren,Thistle would not generate enough money to keep them afloat, while facing Ibrox bills.I have a feeling the 4 year wait could soon be over.I really do.

  19. Only P67 can ask to stop posting certain links, and when he does? I will comply, meanwhile! You don’t want to read link? Don’t open it, what’s wrong with that?

Cheers for info. Installed NeverAds, closed browser, and opened CQN app

Closed CQN. Waited 30 mins in case I was too keen to get in ad free – opened CQN app again – Santander pops up, again!

Repeat excercise another 30 mins later – same again!

Finally succeeded, just now, to open CQN and NOT get obstructed by ad.

Today’s italian News from Brexit Land slot occupied by this —

. Italian Applicants to expensive / crappy public schools in England faced with this choice on the initial on line clearing house application form –

Italian / Italian Neopolitan or Italian Sicilian .

No worries – the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has apologised and the relevant schools instructed to remove the offending words .

  23. I believe Paul67 could ask and/or instruct but being a blog anyone can ask without fear or favour or self importance. You see it’s the nature of a blog. I’m sure though if Paul67 is against anyone asking the mod/s will be instructed to delete the very reasonable questions of one or more bloggers to others.

It’s a simple concept. Hard I know but simple all the same.

  24. Now I’m not suggesting for a moment that the Huns/Animals will ever reach this point total but,……………wouldn’t it be somewhat funny as f##k if they were deducted 54 points ?

  25. I understand ( I think) why so many refer to Traynor`s girth in their criticism of him but it is neither necessary nor relevant.

Wouldn’t it have been great had someone, with a bona fide newspaper publishing background came up with the idea back in 1965 of creating a club newspaper designed to talk directly to the supporters of a football club and capable of addressing some of the issues facing that club? And called it the Celtic View? Wouldn’t that have been great?
