Armstrong, Foundation in Malawi

606

It’s a lot easier to improve a bad team than a treble winning team, but Brendan Rodgers has the latter challenge ahead this summer. One of his principle objectives will be to retain Stuart Armstrong on a new deal. As CQN reported this morning, good progress has been made on that front.

Loving the updates from the Celtic FC Foundation delegation, currently in Malawi with Mary’s Meals. You can follow the remarkable updates from LeftyBhoy here.

This work is being done in your name, with funds you helped raise. Keep an eye on what is being achieved.

Just landed for two days R&R in Belfast. Not been since the mid-90s……….. Off to find a pub and some rich culture…… Recommendations welcome but no messing!!!

France playing England off the park.

Any time I watched Crystal Palace over the last couple of seasons, I noticed that Joe Ledley was very often subbed after about 70 minutes.

Same at the Euros with Wales.

So, sorry Joe, don’t look back in anger.

Ousmane Dembele and Mbappe will be destroying International football for a generation. It almost seems rude to split them up at club level. What a pair.

  6. Januzaj looked a great prospect when he broke into Man U team. Lost his way under Van Gaal and hasn’t ever recovered. Poor loan spells at Dortmund and Sunderland.

  7. I remember England vying with Belgium and Turkey for Januzaj to commit to them for internationals – seems a long time ago now

  8. thetimreaper on

Sociedad allegedly willing to pay £8.8m for Janazuj with United including all sorts of sell on and buy back clauses.

And boss Caixinha is confident the Light Blue legions will see a far different attacking approach from his side in the coming months.

He said: “I think we need more width in the last third, and we need more aggression in that part of the pitch.

“We need to be more aggressive attacking full-backs, attacking spaces, arrivals, having associations with the strikers and to put more crosses in.

That is what we are looking to have in our attacking side.

“Football goes beyond tactics and technique.

Football is all about human relations and when you can get the human relations right and you know you can count on them, everything becomes easier.

“I think the major job I am going to have is to convince the players they are human and they need to work as a unit.

It is much easier for me to have guys who already know the message to spread the message.”

Everton to pay £30m for Sunderland’s goalkeeper. Madness.

Is that 69 league goal conceding Sunderland?

    £30 mil!!!! Madness right enough.

If it was not for the keeper that could have been 169 goals.Fantastic young keeper.I dont know why 30 million for a great keeper is classed as madness, when its sort of commonplace figure in the transfer market now.Strange reasoning.

I’m a wee bit slow, I know, but I’ve just seen that Stockley will not be punished for his assault on Kieran Tierney in the cup final.

Even in rugby that would have merited a spot in the sin bin.

So next season we will be treated to even more swinging elbows being used at free kicks, corners, throw ins and aerial challenges.

But only when Celtic are on the receiving end of attack.
