ARMSTRONG NOT SURPRISED BY GRIFFITHS

STUART ARMSTRONG admitted he wasn’t surprised at the quality of Leigh Griffiths’ stunning hat-trick against Kilmarnock.
The classy Celtic midfielder views the calibre of his colleague’s finishing on a daily basis on the Lennoxtown training pitch.
He said: “Leigh brings goals. He always threatens in behind and I have seen him do that finish in training every day I have been here.
“Leigh is very talented and every time he gets a sniff of goal he takes it.”

Armstrong is unavailable for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness Caley Thistle on Sunday after playing for Dundee United in the competition earlier in the season.

However, he is convinced the Hoops team-mates will raise their standards to make sure of a place at Hampden on May 30.
He added: “We have learned a lot from Inverness on Saturday and how they like to play.
“They put in a good performance and we will have to step up our game and improve on how we played to go through to the Cup Final.”
