ARZANI COMEBACK, OKO-FLEX STRIKES, O’CONNOR AND AFOLABI PLAY

CLASSY Armstrong Oko-Flex stroked in a penalty-kick as a young Celtic team fought out a 1-1 draw with Hibs in a closed-door friendly at Lennoxtown this afternoon.

The former Arsenal youngster netted in the 54th minute to wipe out Josh Campbell’s opener for the Edinburgh side just after the half-hour mark.

Two youngsters who arrived in the summer – defender Lee O’Connor, from Manchester United, and Southampton striker Jonathan Afolabi – played the entire game as they settled into their new surroundings.

The teenage frontman came close to scoring when he was set up by Cameron Harper, but his drive was booted off the line in the 17th minute.

There was also a 64th-minute appearance for Australian international winger Daniel Arzani as he continues his battle back to full fitness after his debut campaign was wrecked by injury.

Calvin Miller limped off to be replaced by Brody Paterson just before the visitors went ahead.

It was a good work-out for the young Hoops against an enterprising Hibs line-up.
