  1. Feyenoord clearly happy with their situation. Lost 6-1 but get Milan or PSV ?

We will know on Friday who we get.

  2. It’s the outcome no one wanted tonight, a play off tie against a super power club.

We did our job this season and got there but it’s now about avoiding an absolute tanking.

  3. I dont know how I feel other than I’m so disappointed how the game finished, so unnecessary, in no standard of football do you allow that to happen.

  4. Proud? Disappointed? Confused?

    All of the above

Most of us would accept out best centre half pairing is CCV plus 1.

Alas, the plan B was a step down

    Great night for Idah

Another game against team from the big leagues. Better performance than Dortmund

Signs of improvement. We know where weaknesses are – and have been

Yes I think it was 18 times but I lost count.

    Astonishing and frustrating.

Feyenoord managed their scenario perfectly. Milan or PSV. Losing 6-1 lol

  6. I dont know who the referee was but I thought he had a good game.

Never went mental with unnecessary cards.

Not a popular sentiment i know.

  7. While I am never happy to be beaten, I can’t help but be proud of the team. The recovered from a terrible start to give Villa a game.

They have been well schooled in the falling down arts. The EPL superstars versus the “Pub league” team didn’t go exactly to plan.

    Beaten but not disgraced.

  8. glendalystonsils on

Daizen for Yang is the one change that would have made a difference at both ends of the pitch. I don’t think Yang won a foot race offensively or defensively. We can see where improvements are needed , let’s hope we make them .

We shouldn’t have to be bringing on youngsters who haven’t kicked a ball for the first team in a game of this magnitude either .

Was BR trying to make a point to the board?

  9. the long wait is over on

Personally , I’m happy enough to face a superpower team and get to see some world class footballers

    play at our ground.

I take no pleasure in saying it but I doubt we’re good enough to get through the next round anyway

  10. Glendalystonsils

If he was doing that then he really gambled badly.

I doubt it though. Surely not.

  11. Celtic finished above Man C. and level on points with Juve.

Milan lost in Zagreb. Celtic drew.

Bayern beat Slovan 3-1. Celtic beat them 5-1.

    ‘snot all bad!

First leg def at home with no Maeda

but with jota, and the new other guy, and mibbies kt.

    It’s football anything can happen.

We can compete, some days it goes our way some days it doesn’t.

    I’m loving this new format.

  14. bigrailroadblues on

We move on. 3 points Sunday and keep the pressure on the hun. We’ll thrash whoever we get in the play off.

  15. GP – re:ref- pish.

Villa – average foul given every 6 minutes.

Celtic average foul given every 22.5 minutes.

    But aye you liked him.

Let fouls go against us when they were attacking….several times.

I don’t think BR was making a point to the board.

Ultimately, this was a nothing game for us and by the time the youngsters came on we’d already

done enough to hold our heads up.

I think it was more about letting the young guys know BR has confidence in them.

  17. It’s just facts.

We missed our best 3 players.

We failed to mount any threat in the 2nd 45.

If Murray is better than Nawrocki, we have not developed the 4.5m asset well.

I was proud of what grit we showed, but not content to be rueing plucky Celtic getting mugged by an EPL side.

PS: And Daizen still banned for our next game v Bayern or Real.

  18. I would’ve taken a single goal defeat, considering our squad available but shame they got a 4th.

The bonus is that we have an established CL striker now, who I’m sure will feed off the confidence gained.

Sympathetic shout out for young Dane Murray.

I agree re the new format.

Of course , anything can happen but in the knockouts we need to play at the top of our game in both

games and I’m not sure we can do that.

That’s not to take anything away from what BR and the players have achieved in getting through.

  21. Zagreb failed to qualify on 11 points. So we can’t feel too sorry for ourselves getting Real or Bayern.
