MAIK NAWROCKI’S puzzling Celtic rollercoaster could come to a halt today with a move to French top-flight club RC Lens.
The 25-year-old central defender cost £4.3million when he joined the Hoops on a five-year deal from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2023.
Nawricki, who spent last season on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96, has made a mere 20 appearances for the Parkhead club and the end is in sight with the German-born former Polish Under-21 international moving to France.
The defender is already in the country for a medical ahead of the proposed signing, according to a report in local media outlet Foot Mercato.

HAPPY DAZE…Luke McCowan and Auston Trusty congratulate Maik Nawrocki after his goal in the 5-1 Premiership win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on May 14 2025 – the defender’s final Celtic appearance.
If there are no unexpected hitches, the transfer is likely to be announced later today.
A fee and other details will be made known once the switch gets the anticipated green light.
Curiously, the towering defender’s last competitive appearance for Celtic came in the emphatic 5-1 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on May 14 2025, a win in which he scored the opening goal.
Nawrocki didn’t even make the squad for the Scottish Cup Final against the Dons 10 days later when the Hoops lost on penalty-kicks.
He is poised to become the fourth permanent exit from the champions this summer, following Luis Palma (Lech Poznan), Stephen Welsh (Swansea City) and Hayato Inamura (Tokyo FC).
Japanese striker Shin Yamada has already agreed a season-long loan at Belgian club OH Leuven while Norwegian midfielder Odin Holm, who spent last term at MLS outfit Los Angeles FC, agreed a deal with former club Valerenga until the turn of the year.
Others will join the clear-out before the transfer window closes on September 3.
