The Socceroos coach said: “The Champions League is a massive competition and City are flying in the English Premier League.
“The fact that Tom could make an impact was great for him and great for his confidence.
“He’s continued on from the form he’s shown in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic.
“And I believe he’s got more in him.
“It’s only really been this year he’s really played consistent football. The more he plays, the more of an impact he can make.
“Tom’s shown he can play at the highest level – his performances are compelling his managers to make him a bigger part of it.”
Rogic, who was taken off after 57 minutes to be replaced by Stuart Armstrong, will join up with the Aussie international squad next week as they prepare for the qualifying ties against Saudi Arabia and Japan.
