Avoiding Bobo, Crown Office, Keyser Soze

653

Well done to Tony Hamilton and his team at Celtic Charity as well as the 60,000 participants for a memorable weekend which confirmed the spirit and heritage of the club.  It was great to see Martin O’Neill and Kenny Dalglish revel in, as well as so many of our more recent heroes, some of whom are aging better than others.

Credit also to the English Premier League players who turned up in such numbers, and who spent 85 minutes avoiding Bobo Balde, after Robert Pires ‘met’ the central defender early in yesterday’s game.  For all the array of talent on show over the weekend to prize goes to Carlos Cuellar, who spent £11k at the charity auction in the Kerrydale Suite on Friday night, the biggest donor by some distance.

The wee guy from One Direction looked terrified from the moment he first flicked his hair on the touchline, and he was on the same team as Bobo.  I’m sure he’ll recover quickly from his knock and enjoy telling the story for decades to come.

Henrik still has it, his movement was unmistakable but ‘Big Greenock’ looked like he was still 22.

The report by the Scottish Law Reporter yesterday that the Crown Office are in possession of material in which prosecutors refer to possible “discussions between former Police Officers employed by a media firm connected to Rangers FC and serving Police officers” moves the debate on recent well-publicised leaks onto a new level.

Charlotte Fakes has apparently been reported to police for inappropriately obtaining material.  While this has yet to be established, the act of reporting the content as being inappropriately obtained, had the unintended consequence of confirming the authenticity of the material.  All of which puts the content of said material under scrutiny.

Post-Leveson the media have been cautious on reporting Charlotte Fakes material without clear evidence that a crime had been committed by ‘victims’ of the leak.  If the Crown Office have now acted, parts of the media still independent may be emboldened.

With Charlotte Fakes now as easy to find as Keyser Soze the direction of the police investigation will be difficult to predict.

I know we would probably all say Henke.

But maybe we shouldn’t rush to judgement.

Hope Jim Spence isn’t going to get hung out to dry. Maybe if the SFA grew a pair and killed the “same club” myth it would make it easier for everyone.

Agree, but the complicity of his colleagues in the “same club” lie,has stabbed him in the back IMO.HH

Posted on the last thread, but no reply so you may have missed it.

In regards o Australia having the right to decide who comes INTO their country, everyone has the right to refuse anyone entry into their home. However, it is the reasons for doing so that are judged. “I tell you truely whatever you did not do for the least of these, you did not do for me.” (Matthew 25:45)

  4. In today’s Scotsman reporting on yesterday’s events at Celtic Park, Martin Hannan produced a thought provoking line that his late father, Jim, would have been proud of.

On the distribution of the proceeds, Martin, who has the founders of Hibs in his family background wrote, ‘ Part of the proceeds from the match will also go to the Trussell Trust, who will provide a food bank in the east end of Glasgow. Celtic FC was founded 125 years ago to raise funds to feed the poor in the east end. Not much progress since 1888, then’.

I’d have to say mccoist. Don’t get me wrong Henrik scored lots of goals which helped beat Rangers many times. But Mccoist had a big hand in killing them… No contest.

BUS boss Sandy Easdale is reportedly

McGill’s buses tycoon Easdale is set to

shareholder, and is believed to have

Sources told The Sun: “The City investors

  11. Thoroughly enjoyed the day out yesterday even if half the ground seemed to be filled with screaming wee lassies.

Big shout to all the pros, ex and current, along with the celebs who turned out. Can’t say any of them deserve more credit than any other but John Terry and Carlos Cuellar have both gone way up in my estimations, you can’t really form an honest opinion of anyone from how they are portrayed in the meda or from what team they play for.

As for the One Directon lad, for all the stick he took he was probably responsible for a fair number at yesterday’s game, again another person gone up in my estimations.

Great occasion and a day to be proud to be a Tim.

  16. It will be interesting to see how much he eventually sells for.

    Newcastle are tracking Iceland international

Alfred Finnbogason with a view to signing the

Heerenveen striker in the January sales.

The Magpies were offered the 24-year-old

finisher during the summer for just £5million

but put their efforts into a failed attempt to

sign Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon while Darren

Bent also slipped from their grasp when he

    joined Fulham from Aston Villa.

Finnbogason is back in their radar and

sources in Tyneside have revealed that scouts

were sent to watch him play in the World Cup

qualifier with Switzerland on Friday, which

    ended in a 4-4 draw.

  19. I caught a wee glimpse of the Official film of the 1974 World Cup yesterday and was taking aback by something I had forgotten about from the match between Poland and eventual winners West Germany.

When we debate keeping politics out of football, we should remember that this match was halted midway through a half to stage a minute’s silence for Juan Peron, the recently deceased Argentinian President. Astonishing that such homage was requested and paid during a fitba match for such a scumbag.

Incredible afternoon at Parkhead yesterday. Emotional and the best tenner I’ve ever spent. Great to see Stan on the park in the hoops again. Great player and great guy.

Delighted so many ex pro’s & current pro’s turned out for him. What a privilege for us to see the likes of Larsson, Moravcik, Pires & terry play. When some fans booed Cuellar & Terry I clapped them, well played both of them. I hope they all had a great night last night assuming one was planned for them.

Days like yesterday make me so proud to be a Celtic fan. I’m not saying there aren’t other good clubs out there but I don’t see another like ours.

The reason I mentioned Sydney Tim’s post was it followed the rules of all spelling police posts ie., when you point out or make fun of someone’s spelling you inevitably make a spelling error yourself when doing so. (I’m now checking over what I typed above). I’m a member of the spelling police myself and usually follow/ fall victim to the rule myself. Although, in my case, being an ex- heidie, it’s not really a spelling error, it’s more of a typo or else predictive text from my iPad. :-))
