Avoiding Bobo, Crown Office, Keyser Soze

653

Well done to Tony Hamilton and his team at Celtic Charity as well as the 60,000 participants for a memorable weekend which confirmed the spirit and heritage of the club.  It was great to see Martin O’Neill and Kenny Dalglish revel in, as well as so many of our more recent heroes, some of whom are aging better than others.

Credit also to the English Premier League players who turned up in such numbers, and who spent 85 minutes avoiding Bobo Balde, after Robert Pires ‘met’ the central defender early in yesterday’s game.  For all the array of talent on show over the weekend to prize goes to Carlos Cuellar, who spent £11k at the charity auction in the Kerrydale Suite on Friday night, the biggest donor by some distance.

The wee guy from One Direction looked terrified from the moment he first flicked his hair on the touchline, and he was on the same team as Bobo.  I’m sure he’ll recover quickly from his knock and enjoy telling the story for decades to come.

Henrik still has it, his movement was unmistakable but ‘Big Greenock’ looked like he was still 22.

The report by the Scottish Law Reporter yesterday that the Crown Office are in possession of material in which prosecutors refer to possible “discussions between former Police Officers employed by a media firm connected to Rangers FC and serving Police officers” moves the debate on recent well-publicised leaks onto a new level.

Charlotte Fakes has apparently been reported to police for inappropriately obtaining material.  While this has yet to be established, the act of reporting the content as being inappropriately obtained, had the unintended consequence of confirming the authenticity of the material.  All of which puts the content of said material under scrutiny.

Post-Leveson the media have been cautious on reporting Charlotte Fakes material without clear evidence that a crime had been committed by ‘victims’ of the leak.  If the Crown Office have now acted, parts of the media still independent may be emboldened.

With Charlotte Fakes now as easy to find as Keyser Soze the direction of the police investigation will be difficult to predict.

  1. Bada.

Non season ticket holders will get one once all st holders who want one get theirs.

I’m guessing 10k minimum for non st holders.

  2. Handsome Stranger also a winner. I don’t normally bet on horses as I know nothing, but was lurking when those tips came up and have just managed to access Bet365 on my phone, so a couple of quid on each and a little £1 double – and now £49 up. Thanks guys….

    “So what should we do?

The RFFF should fund an anti-dirty tricks campaign which will not only defend the club and support, it will plant a few powerful seeds of its own. To be clear, violence is off the agenda – it will always be off our agenda – but there are other ways to skin a cat and it’s time we started adopting them.

For very modest sums, the RFFF could fund a small group of dedicated fans who will act on behalf of club and support and effectively be a Rangers intelligence unit – and act appropriately as and when the need arises.”

I see a difficulty right away.

Ireland and Scotland were different parts of the one country back then. No difference in someone moving from say Dundee to Glasgow than Dungloe and Glasgow.

Also that was the first place the boat landed.

You don’t seem to understand people have a problem with so called refugees traveling across several countries to what they see as the land of milk and honey.

As a matter of fact (legal definitions and stuff) they are not the same thing and if you’d been following the discussion earlier you would appreciate that there were those using the distinction to justify their country’s treatment of economic migrants.

That’s why I made the point.

We’re on the same side here, so let’s not have an argument.

I’d suggest you do some research into the tales of those forced to leave their homes before suggesting that it was akin to departing Dundee for Glasgow.

Are you aware that some of those who ended up in either Glasgow or Liverpool actually boarded ships which they thought were destined for America?

The ships sailed around the Isle of Man for several days before docking on the west coast of Britain.

Were those Irish refugees not entitled to seek out the best lives that they possibly could for themselves and their families?

Ps I understand perfectly well it just disgusts me.

    Thank you for that response.

Having read your posts in the past I’m aware that your feelings on this would be similar to my own.

My intention wasn’t to instigate an argument with your good self but to point out that the pedantry lies in the legislation which is deliberately labeled to be misleading.

  11. Green jedi – have Irish or Scots or Welsh people always emigrated to the country geographically closest to them? No, and nor should economic migrants or asylum seekers. The fact is the vast majority of the world’s asylum seekers/refugees are housed in neighbouring countries, who more often and not don’t have the resources to look after them properly. Poor countries already carry that burden. We can afford to help out and we should help out.

Let’s look at the causes of emigration though and see what we can do to help there.

What I was meaning is once the season ticket holders have their cl packages non season ticket holders will get the rest.

Yes, they will be available to season ticket holders first but you can’t occupy two seats at the same time(no fatist jokes please).

Standing up for migrant workers of any description, as I am one myself.

Although having spent my first twelve years growing up a Tim in Southern Ayrshire, it could be argued I’d qualify for refugee status too.
