It was Back to the Future on Saturday afternoon, listening to Aberdeen rescue a point against Dundee was more like 1985 than 2015. TV highlights suggest Aberdeen pounded Dundee, but three excellent goals were enough for the visitors to set the stage for Celtic to return to the top of the league against Motherwell on Wednesday.
Aberdeen have been imperious in recent months. Incredibly, apart from Dundee and Celtic, they have failed to keep a clean sheet only once (at drubbing at Hamilton) since September. That’s title challenging form in any language.
This run is unlikely to endure as the vagaries of form and fortune catch them up, but it appears our long wait for a notional title rival looks to be over. Which is good.
Any business with operating expenses in the region of £33m a year, which is £2.75m a month or just over £600k a week, that had to borrow £500k in the first week of the month in order to pay an unexpected tax bill of the same magnitude, will by now be in urgent need of funds to pay rates, other tax liabilities, electricity and gas (no matter how little they used on Friday), while wages day is approaching. And remember, those gardens don’t ‘duty’ themselves.
Newco Rangers will need a loan, or to sell a player for cash, to avoid imminently slipping into insolvency. If Dave King is confident about carrying shareholders at a March EGM, and has the resources, he should loan the club money to get them through the next two months, no strings attached. A bit like John Keane did for Celtic in 1994. With insolvency looming, Keane, currently a Celtic director, but at the time an agitator for boardroom change, wrote a seven figure cheque, no strings attached, to pay-down Celtic’s overdraft, as the Bank of Scotland threatened to call in administrators.
Anything less than this is playing into the hands of Mike Ashley.
CQN11 St Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance is on Friday 13 March, at the Kerrydale Suite, Celtic Park. The focus of an excellent night’s entertainment will be funding the construction of a kitchen at Chibwata Primary School in Malawi, for Mary’s Meals.

???????? Which one and from what side – a piles of B/S from both yes and no.
Both sides being exposed as having had their pants on fire
See stuart mccall is trying to weasel his way into sevco …….. Having failed at Motherwell, I suppose, with none else interested in his services, he is now getting really desperate….
Proudbhoy,
1 definitely won’t. That’s a near certainty. Shame.
I’m still hopeful for the other 2 though

the battered bunnet
==================================
I personally prefer his posts to the Nationalist garbage that’s spouted on here……….but I’d rather get my politics somewhere else.
SR: Would you say Dave King is a fit and proper person?
CO: I can assure you that he is as fit and proper as I am.

100% agree. but there is always a but…
try saying Xmas on here (tin hat on)
MWD said AYE and you offend me for being a fearty unionist and saying Naw tae :-)
‘Inflammatory’
How much more inflamed can presenting a penant make what will already be a hate filled atmosphere? I see no reason to treat this new club differently to any other club we have met for the first time. Celtic welcoming a new club into the fold should be seen as a positive only rabid Huns would see it differently.
Also far from me to defend Spiers but to make it clear this was not his idea just a contributor within the comments section.

Celtic often present pennants to clubs no matter how many times they have played them.
########################
Was under this impression too but if we were to present one, then just to make sure, it should state their new club name – Celtic FC v The Rangers FC
HH!
I think that the Police unpaid bill was from their liquidation. Its on the list of unpaid debts.Too similar a figure to be the same.
I think.
Monaghan1900
They think they’ve bought actual bricks. Jesus! How dim are they?
How do they think that worked?
I don’t think they need to worry though. I’m sure Big Mike will do the right thing and return each and every brick to it’s rightful owner after he flattens the place.

‘Taxi for Murphy.
Never a socialist or a Celtic man’
###
I’d agree that Murphy isn’t a socialist.
There are very few socialists in mainstream politics nowadays.
He’s a Celtic fan though. It’s just silly, and to be honest sounds a wee bit desperate, to suggest otherwise.

The Labour Party won all the great socialist battles from 1945 – ALL OF THEM.

Need I go on – what have SNP done – with their one-issue dogma they have set Scot against Scot.
If you vote out a Labour government you NEVER get a more left-wing regime, you ALWAYS ALWAYS get a right-wing government.
So we take no lectures on Socialism from the SNP Tartan Tories, or their fellow travellers – they don’t know the meaning of the word.
Not too be the same,DOH !!!!!!!.
My point to TOSB referred to his take on the boul’ Spiersy………

Naw?
Go back and read it again. Then criticise it in the manner that you did.
Nae bliddy wonder we’re haemorrhaging votes up there if the likes of you are the brains behind the operation,or even the foot soldiers.
Canny tell an insult fae a compliment,ya eejit.
I’ll say nothing more on this subject other than this:
At the last general election Labour increased their share of the vote in Scotland.

Dear Alfie Noakes,
After reading and reflecting upon your many posts in the short time since you joined the blog, I have come to the view that you are a virtual fart in the CQN spacesuit.
Kind regards,
TBB

LOL – It’s not only your bunnet that’s battered – it would appear that what’s underneath is not in the best of condition.
67heaven am diddling just fine, still have’nt got a definitive answer from one of our legal eagles re: UK company law and directors. I tend to think it has got some merit since it is what The Rangers board used in their letter to the Stock Exchange. It’s an impending rail crash overthere. The light at the end of the tunnel is the light of the oncoming liquidation/administration express. Hope you and the lhads are keeping well. Hail Hail Hebcelt

Thats good then.
Sadly id be surprised if any of the 3 are wearing the hoops next season.
Im sure its upto man city where jason lines up nxt season so hopefully if he is staying out on loan its with us.
RD said a couple of weeks ago that he has had talks with Man C about extending Denayers loan for another season.Said the talks went well.
Think its really up to the boy.Maybe the medals will give him a lift.

And remember, those gardens don’t ‘duty’ themselves.
If MA lends Sevco the £10m and takes control over Ibrox and Murray Park then any new operator like the so called 3 bears will be paying the £33m plus a rental for Ibrox .Presume they would ditch Murray Park.
Let’s say then £38m operating expenses a year with all the nice little side earners like merchandising and catering being siphoned off elsewhere via “onerous contracts”
Then even if they sell 40,000 ST’s per season(£300 per ST), that will only bring in at best £12m. How the hell are they going to operate next season without a “Jack Walker” type sugar daddy. That isn’t going to happen so there F**ked!

Forget the pennant, it’s not going to happen. I’d settle for our captain celebrating his goal (our fifth) by doing the ‘Broonie’ in elbows face.
John Keane – a Celtic supporter and a Celtic man, stood up to be counted when we were in dire need – being scuppered by the same banks who loaned and have since written-off, hundreds of millions to the Murray empire.
I wish we had a lot more John Keanes on here, not for their money, but their support.
We are rebuilding and our plight is insignificant to what it was twenty years ago – and yet we get the serial moaners day in and day out, spilling their bile on Peter Lawwell and the board.

The SNP
Gave the Scottish people free further education for their kids.
Free prescriptions for the sick.
Froze Council Tax.
Scrapped,or in the process of Scrapping the Bedroom tax.
Fighting to get a better share of the Westminster pot to improve our NHS.
What they have not done is squnder untold billions on illegal wars.
Be a party to shameful cover ups of sex ring scandals at Westminster.
Stand on the same platform as Conservatives,Ukip and tell blatant lies to the Scottish electorate at the Indy vote.
I could go on,but I wont.Only answering your questions.
__________________________________________________________________
Free tuition fees are an SNP subsidy to the middle classes – to keep them sweet.
The SNP has starved FE colleges of funds, staff and courses to pay for university fees. Cui bono?
The frozen council tax benefits high earners six times more than average or low earners. It’s the less well off who need good council services.Fact.
Before the SNP abolished prescription charges 85% of patients got free prescriptions. Those – like me – who paid could well afford to pay.
Bedroom Tax – don’t make me laugh!. Last year the SNP had £444 million they didn’t spend. They could have ended the Bedroom Tax several times over with that.
The SNP’s stewardship of the NHS has been nothing short of a scandal. Scotland gets a higher per capita spend on health than any other part of the UK but is the only part of the UK where health spending fell.
BTW Sturgeon visited Dreghorn Primary last week. Her entourage was do big that it forced primary children out to eat in a freezing playground. That says it all about the SNP
Alfie dearie me if that is the best you can come back with, do a Mowbray – take it on the chin H H Hebcelt
