Brendan Rodgers was a bit too relaxed looking when announcing the probable departure of Carl Starfelt this week. You could interpret this as a sign the ‘news’ was not news to him and that a plan to accommodate was at a mature state.
Reports from Sweden yesterday suggest we are interested in Gustaf Lagerbielke (23), central defender at Elfsborg. Like Carl, Gustaf can play on the left, despite being right footed, he won his first Sweden cap in a friendly this year.
Both Maik Nawrocki (22) and Gustaf have first team experience at a top club a league of similar calibre to the Scottish Premiership. Unlike the rest of our central defenders, Gustaf is midseason, so will be fully fit as Scottish football drags itself up the summer hill.
If he is coming, it would be good to get him in and settled before our trip to joint-top Kilmarnock on League Cup duty later this month. As ever, Celtic will want backfill sorted before releasing Carl.

Nice picture of old Celtic team mates. 👌
My Mum and Dad were due out here in Spain in a couple of weeks for their Grandson’s 11th birthday. Unfortunately my Mum had a “small” heart attack last week and her cardiologist has recommended she does not travel for a few weeks.
So I am going to head to Scotland for a surprise visit so she gets to see her grandson for his birthday. While there, Celtic are at home to St Johnstone on August 26th. Anyone know if it is possible to buy tickets for the family enclosure on general sale? I got three tickets (grandad, me & grandson) for an Aberdeen game 3 years ago without much problem. I have contacted Laura at the ticket office but there is no info yet for that game. Anyone know when they are likely to go on sale?
If not, has anyone got three tickets together that they won’t be using that I can buy off them? Or is this not possible due to ID checks?
Cheers

I will be going to Croatia on 23rd August so will miss this game – you can have my ticket if you wish.

“Hospitality” packages available for the St Johnstone match but no tickets available at all for General Sale. Or at least not yet.
You can sign up up for info by email but it remains to be seen whether this improves the situation from last season. I have my doubts on that front. Based on that experience I doubt whether there will be a public/general sale for any home league match unless and until the midweek game against St Mirren on November 1, 7.45pm kick off. Also known as All Saints Day. Tickets will be available for that guaranteed. Every match will be branded “Sold Out” though.

This is hilarious.
Cheers, AT.
Further evidence (as if it is needed) of the whoppers being fed to the irretrievably stupid getting bigger and bigger, moving even further away from reality.
OK, I’ll whisper it.
I think Harry Maguire might do OK at West Ham.
Different mandate. Less playing out from the back, more snotters.
A more .. ahem .. understanding coach.
OMG Celtic bursting theit spending record!
“Celtic has made a record bid for IF Elfsborg’s Gustaf Lagerbielke – the bid is around SEK 40 million.
“The parties are in intensive talks and Elfsborg are evaluating a sale – which could be a record deal for the club.”
(Does SEK mean Sterling in Swedish?)

HRVATSKI JIM- thank you for the kind offer, really appreciated but the idea is to try and get 2-3 seats together as my son is only 11 years old.
CELTIC MAC – thanks for the info. My hope is that the family enclosure part has tickets as you need to have a kid with you which limits demand.
SEK is Swedish Króna worth about 10p.
I.e. 10 to the pound
