After Tuesday night, you might feel a slight sting. That’s pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps. Continue to bank Premiership points, mature as a squad and grow the club, because a year from now when we’re kicking it in the Champions League, you’re gonna’ say ‘We’re progressing’.
A week ago I suggested a case could be made that the game at Ross County was our most important before the international break. I know that game has already faded into memory, but argument stands. Champions League football is everything to Celtic – our biggest earner, best way to attract players, the sugar in fans’ tea, we need to be there and we need to improve results when we get there.
We are a significant way off the highs of Gordon Strachan’s Champions League campaigns (yes, some people were always unhappy), and we need to redouble efforts to return to that level, but until then, the importance of winning at the weekend can never be overstated.
Our coefficient monkeys did their best last night to make sure Celtic continue to reach the Champions League in future seasons. Still a lot of work to do before we can assume anything, but fair play to them – every club in the league must do their best for Scotland’s perennial champions.
While Celtic legs and minds will be weary after our humbling in Madrid, Aberdeen flew back from Greece overnight after a respectable draw with POAK, and will travel south tomorrow ahead of their game at Celtic Park on Sunday. Barry Robson is making progress but the international break surely cannot come soon enough for a squad which is far lighter than Celtic’s.
I expect a backlash from Celtic.

That’s not true.
There’s arseholes, racists, huns, royalists, zionists, smartarses and tories to name a few.
Pleased to disagree with all those.

So freedom of speech is an issue for you?
I’m not a big Tennis fan, I had no idea Ivan Lendl was Andy Murray’s coach.
They huv seperated, seems like Andy is gonnae retire Jam&Spoon.
I think we’ll be Ok, but it will be interesting to see how Ange copes with his injury situation.
I have the feeling the EPL is about to dish out a harsh lesson.

That should knock him out of the Asian Cup. He can spend the winter break getting up to fitness. Every cloud ☁️…….
The problem now might be, with Spurs injuries mounting, which club will Ange want to raid for possible stand ins?

Had a quick look at our women’s game, up 1:0.
No idea who our number 20 is but some Bush of hair. Don’t know how it doesn’t interfere with her mobility, like running about with a Rhododendron on your napper !!
Used to be I would delete 2 posters going at each other and scoring points
When I did, both posters would complain and call it a “debate”
Which was what CQN was built on……
When I don’t
It just festers
How should we play this?
Can we call it quits and act like adults knowing that there are 2 sides to each and no one wins in that debate??
Don’t know if this is of interest….Celts ladies 1 up approaching half time in
Scottish cup v Glasgow….
Oops Phil never seen yer post ….. sorry mate..

EKBHOY @ 6:42 PM,
Agreed, good points.
As you say we could argue about the right recruitment approach but we’ve done that to death as you know.
The one thing I will say this was a hugely important transitional season and we went into weaker than last season with £72 mn in the Bank, that can’t be good in anyone’s book.
Have a great one…
Hail Hail
Sack the board.
Self serving Tory Rats.

Happy place tonight on ole cqn. You are an absolute shower.
So there now.
MOD, sorry to break it to you (for the second time this evening), there are always 3 sides to every story, debate or argument: your side, their side and the truth.
BRRB
until the next game falls after a sore defeat
I wouldn’t expect anything less
And if it was anything less
I would be dissappointed
I have my raincoat on and my brolly up #shower
Am I misogynist because I dinnae agree.
It is scarey the differences.
The Very best of Luck to the Celtic Ladies. Not for me Ever.
Prestonpans Bhoy
The lass with the magnificent hair is Paula Partido, a teenager on loan from real Madrid.
She is probably our best outfield player tonight but the US Keeper Daugherty has had a few smart saves too.

Before we get to the weekend and beers overtake our commonsense (mine included and its my birthday on sunday – so the beers will be flowing)
I thought it prudent to pop out some commonsense
Which is unusual for me…
SAINT STIVS on 10TH NOVEMBER 2023 3:09 PM
my favourite Murdoch Mystery is on tv now. Murdoch is a catholic detective in the Toronto polis. there is a murder in the lodge, as each of the hooded individuals reveal themselves they are all in the police. they call on murdoch to investigate, his face as the masons talk all their guff is hilarious, are you an athiest, we cannot allow an unbeliever in solomons temple no sir i am a catholic, a papist that is worse. says the rwm (i am in the know, wink wink)
*Aye I like Murdoch but at times have tae laugh at it, I lived in TO many years ago plus I now live in what is known as the Greater Toronto Area aka GTA so can reflect on some of the areas and times in question.
First of all during Murdoch’s era there a Catholic widnae have got a job cleaning the toilets never mind being a detective, also it widnae be the craft that would hold him back but the lol and I don’t mean laughing out loud either as they controlled not only TO but the province as a whole and that lasted well into the mid 80s, in fact to be mayor, chief of police/fire service or many of the main insurance companies being a member of or even grand master of the lol was a prerequisite, but that all ended when the ruling tory party, political wing of the lol, of 42 years lost the election with the Liberal Party taking over.
However, prior to that a young former Constable in Bermuda Police Force moved to TO and applied for a similar position in the Metropolitan Toronto Police, as he was filling in his application the desk sergeant noticed he had stated his religion as RC and told him he was wasting his time, he did have a good pedigree though being the son of a British Colonial Police colonel who was decorated with an MBE for his work with prison reform and children’s polio.
He was hired and spent a number of years as a homicide detective before becoming the first RC chief of police in Toronto.
Petec, whats his blog moniker??
