AMIDO BALDE’S loan deal with Israeli outfit Hapoel Tel Aviv until the end of the season has been confirmed.

The striker spent the first half of the campaign at Waasland-Beveren, but scored only one goal and failed to make an impact in Belgium.

Balde cost £1.8million when he was signed by the SPFL champions from Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimareas in June 2013.

He was handed a four-year deal by ex-boss Neil Lennon, but failed to impress and Ronny Deila, too, didn’t see an immediate first team future for the frontman.

The 23-year old made 20 appearances for Celtic, but only scored on three occasions.

Balde is relishing the opportunity to make a success of his team in Israel and he said: “I’ve heard many good things about the club and the atmosphere.”
