‘BAN ROW IS NOT MY FAULT,’ INSISTS AJER

CELTIC teenager Kristoffer Ajer insists he’s not to blame for the suspension row that ruined his debut for Norway Under-21s.

The versatile defender/midfielder netted in their 5-0 win against Kosovo, but should have been banned for the game after being sent sent off for the Under-19s in his last match.

UEFA will now award a 3-0 win for Kosovo, but Ajer, 19, insists it’s not his fault because he checked with the Norwegian FA before the clash.

He said: “They gave me the all-clear. I don’t feel guilty at all. There was a glitch in the system.”

Ajer will return to the Hoops for pre-season training after spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Kilmarnock.
