I knew Kerrykeel very well. Used to drink mostly in Loughery’s and then go across the street to Shiels’s. Never went in to McKinley’s much up the street opposite the Gardia barracks. John Kerr was a famous singer who had a shop further down the road. I had a big family of cousins( (13) up in Tirhomen, up from the Milford Bakery. I played for Killybegs, through a friend of mine, in a Donegal Cup Semi-final against Donegal Town and scored two goals in a 2-2 draw. Didn’t have to buy a drink all night.

Sargassosea,
I used to love going into John Kerr’s shop. My wee mo used to buy all sorts of stuff from there. I used to spend my time at Mr. McGlaughlins store next to the Gardai station playing the puggy machines:)))
Used to love the smell of the Milford bakery and then driving up to Ramelton to McDaids sometimes to pick up the soft drinks for the pub, like my favorite, McDaid’s football specials, loved that as a wee bhoy.
Thanks for thememories.

Loved our goals last night but still concerned how easy we give up chances.
Our style of play is swashbuckling, great to watch and should be too much for domestic football but if we want to compete a level up and don’t want thumped a further level up we will need a plan B. A way of being a little more robust and stuffy – tricky to breakdown but dangerous on the break. A good team finds different ways to play and to win, if we go full Angeball in Europe I can’t see us making any progress and we all desperately want to see us improve our standing in that arena.
Not going to bang on about who or what we need in the transfer market as I reckon we all think the same but was a little disappointed in Ange comments last night – no rush, working in the background, a few weeks, – seemed a bit down beat. Surely we are not going back to doing just enough to try and stay ahead of them…………
Given that presser and the expectation management of recent articles on here I have the fear……

Nothing has been done to add physicality to the midfield. We don’t seem to have anyone capable of making a tackle.

We all hear what we want to hear, I suppose . To me Ange was saying we know what we want, we are going through the process & hopefully there will be news before the Season begins,
We all agree a central Defender & a midfield enforcer are the obvious most pressing need and I have no doubt that Ange & his team are thinking the same,
We probably have enough now to win our first 5 League games, The fun starts 1st week of September,
Window closes on the 1st we play the Hun on 3rd & Champions League kicks off on the 6th & 7th.
Get a shiver thinking about it, anyhow my point, no need to panic.
So far Ange has got most things right, this window is progressing in a satisfactory manner, He knows better than us what we need, trust Ange,
Keep the Faith.

I don’t expect anything like last year but you never know.
We currently have 27 outfield players in our squad, I think that number is about right for a full season,
Current squad contains Dane Murray, Scott Robertson, Ozase Urhoghide, Liam Shaw, Christopher Jullien, Abian Ajeti , Johnny Kenny & Mikey Johnston,
What part will these 8 play in the Season, personally I expect at least 4 of them will be sold or loaned out that will open the door for a few more to come in either buys or loans with options to buy.

Enjoyable watch yesterday.
Perceptions are funny things.
With my ‘fan short for fanatic’ hat on I want us to be perfect but occasionally see play that still looks a little disjointed which, when it doesn’t come off, sees us looking exposed.
If I put my analytical hat on?
Ange’s team (irrespective of overall performance) create multiple very good scoring opportunities in every game they play.
IF … it all clicks – will be frightening.
Personal highlight yesterday – 3rd goal.
Falls into my favourite category of goal.
Speed generates a low-medium probability chance – Bang. Goal.
Almost impossible to defend.
Dispiriting, bewildering feeling when you are on the receiving end.
