It’s the battle of the Lennons at Celtic Park tomorrow with Danny enjoying the best run of form in his managerial career. St Mirren are on 20 points, joint with St Johnstone, who they beat in Perth last month, and have already taken a point from Ibrox this season. They are a technically sound team who will be more difficult to create chances against than Dunfermline were on Wednesday. They can also play a bit.
Team formation will be enormously important for Neil Lennon. This is the type of fixture he would previously select a 4-4-2, with two wingers, giving width to the game, but leaving a central two outnumbered by opponents who inevitably pack the middle of the field. If Celtic persist with this strategy they’ll need to tighten up in the middle.
There is an interesting subplot to this weekend’s games. Earlier this month there was a daunting 12 points between Celtic and Rangers. A win for Celtic tomorrow would see that gap shrink to 4 points, with Rangers playing their game in hand away to Kilmarnock at lunchtime on Sunday. As well as playing for three points tomorrow, Celtic have the opportunity to put pressure on Rangers.

Coorslad,
Noticed from the last thread you were in Santa Ponsa for Italia 90. I watched the final in the big Irish bar in the corner (across from FAMA) name escapes me. First boys holiday abroad at 18, loved it!
We got to keep building momentum…

Fantastic link. Much better view than when I was there about 3 years ago. Herded through like cattle. It was like the London subway. Managed to sneak my camera in for some pics though !
Hi Paul.
Nice to be back on board!
Crucial game for The Bhoys tomorrow!
I’m confident the starting 11 from the other night could do the job if they show the attitude and appetite that was evident for 60 minutes or so the other night. If Kris isn’t fit and the others are do we go with Sammi coming in for him or does Badr come in at left-back and Joe add a bit of steel to midfield?
Paul67,the 1 thing I’d not like to see changed tomorrow,is big Victor at the back..He has had his best 2 games there, and there seemed a bit more confidence around him..can see him bringing Sammi back in..I can see this Celtic team giving a team a good tanking soon,it could have been Dunfermline, hopfully it’s the Saints..or maybe it could be on 28th Dec…
I think we were a full 15 behind going into the game at Fir Park, Paul.
Funny how being 4 points behind would be so welcome!

The bar is called Dicey Reilly’s. Best bar I have ever been to! And to give “Fama” its full title, it was actually monikered the “Fama Disco Show”. Alas it is no longer with us, according to recent reports.
Have we stopped talking about Sone Aluko yet? Hope so, it’s getting a bit boring now !!
Any chance of Kris Commons being fit for tomorrow?

Did we ever establish why he went off at half-time on Weds?
Will we be unleashing Mo Bangura on the hapless Buddies tomorrow?

we were 15 points behind when we went to fir park
get the won tomorrow and put them under a bit of pressure for the first time this season
pity its killie they’re playing, usually shooting in practice for them down there
Henrik’s Golden Boot says:
“I’m sure i read somewhere that he felt his groin in the 1st half on Wed”
And he stayed in the dressing room so he could keep feeling it?
Gerryguk7,spot on..Fama was a god spot to..

Hopefully we will have a back four that does not consist of 2 midfielders.
9-1 to Celtic.

Mr Corrigan conveyed his wish that there be a better relationship between the police and the supporters’ organisations and his strong desire that young people, who would not normally come into contact with the criminal justice system, should not do so in the context of a game of football.
What he is saying is as long as they associate with Green Brigade they will be lifted.

Wonder can the young lad Fraser not play fullback..I don’t fancy El kadourri..were does Blackman play?

left back!
Afternoon all.
For anyone going tomorrow, mind take your solicitor with you.
Doesn’t matter how immune you feel you might be, as even Bishops it seems are subject to this new rigorous “anti-sectarian” (ahem) initiative.
Will be good to see us give some team an over-due good thrashing- however, as it’s Danny Lennon, the only SPL manager who had the decency to condemn the attacks on our own manager last season, I’ll settle for 4-0.
row z
Interesting from the start of the game on Wednesday. On 2 occaisons balls through the middle beat our central defenders with a forward about to get onto the ball only for Joe Ledley to have covered early and to intercept/clear. Had Joe not been there and moved early we could have been 1 or 2 down.
If we move Joe further up we need someone alive enough to provide this cover.
Fortunnes Favour Mibbes
I thought Kenny Shiels was also strong in support of Neil.
HH
Row Z,if he signed him and put him straight on the bench on we’d night,he must be fit,so maybe we might see him start..hope we go for the jugular from the start, win the game, and then get Sammi on to hold the ball up..
Momentum is mentioned often and it’s importance can’t be under-estimated, a good result tomorrow would set down a marker for the rest of the SPL season and it’d also bolster the confidence of the team for Wednesday’s game against Atletico. Tomorrow’s game could hold the key to our season.
C’mon the Bhoys
