CELTIC target Mika Baur was missing when SC Paderborn beat Southampton 2-1 in their bounce game today.
The 22-year-old midfielder was a notable absentee from the Bundesliga club’s squad list.
His non-appearance sparked speculation there could be something happening on the transfer front, but, according to his club, Baur was not available for selection because he has a cold.
The news of the player’s no-show was broken on Sky Sports who went onto state: “Baur is keen to join the Scottish champions and is awaiting an agreement between the clubs, so he can travel.
“Talks are ongoing.”

WANTED MAN…midfield ace Mika Baur.
Celtic allegedly had a £4million offer rejected for Baur on Monday, as CQN reported.
His newly-promoted club are refusing to budge on their valuation, believed to be in the region of £4.3million. The playmaker has just one year left on his contract.
Sporting director Sebastian Lange insists the Hoops will not get Baur on the cheap.
Reacting to reports that Baur had already agreed a deal with the champions, he said: “It’s nonsense. I have no idea where this stuff comes from.”
Martin O’Neill has already added two strikers – £11million-plus Kasper Hogh and £5.5million Columbian Camilo Duran – to his squad, but is still adamant the champions require more recruits.
