Looked like foul to us,but thats our luck in the CL.Poxed.
We where very good,we tried we had chances,but unfortunately we lost a goal ,and that’s all I’m saying.
What does var not pick up the assault on Maeda ? Last week Brugge get pen for far less than that.
A great performance by all, but I was just waiting for that rotten bit of Euro luck to hit us again and there it was. Massive progress though.
Schluup was my man of the match , just shaded Johnson and the rest of the team. Engels first half showed quality and I can’t wait to see him next season when he has another level of fitness.

Normally a 1-1 at Bayern is a great result. Unfortunately not tonight.

We’re back on the big stage. That was a huge performance from everyone out there. We were a bit unlucky at the end having withstood all of their attacks to that point. Schmeichel is an amazing keeper.
Probably the hardest working performance in the last 20 years. Not just hard working but disciplined and professional and just a tad short in front of goal. This team are coming together under Brendan and are believing they are a CL side. Very proud of every one of them.

Our Brugge result also got a massive boost tonight,beating Atalanta 3-0 in Italy.

Remember we had a stone wall penalty in the first game denied that required a new explanation of why not, then this, refs defo favour big teams, his BMW will be in his driveway.
The players will naturally be disappointed but will take great heart from the performance when things settle down.
Proud of the organisation,effort and skill shown and with a bit more composure in the final third we could have won.

Maeda fouled 30 seconds before they scored, referee seen it and pointed,as if we are getting a foul at least
Just rewound. Maeda goes to run in behind their #2 on 2:28 in added time. He sticks left arm out and catches him in the face.. Looked a clear foul off the ball. Ref ignores it even though their player acknowledges the contact. Accidental or not, surely that was a foul.

I don’t think that was a Penalty but I am dying to see that incident
with Maeda in the lead up to the goal.
Sounds like VAR might have bottled looking at that.
Would have been a huge shout to call a last minute goal at BM back but that’s their job.
Regardless of whether it’s a foul or not. Play should have been stopped for head knock. That is the rules and the ref and linesmen didn’t do their job.
Earlier today I watched PLZ Soccer on YouTube preview the game. Peter Martin with guests Allison McConnell, Tam McManus & Allan Rough. At end PM asked for score forecasts. AMcC said 4-0 Bayern. TMcM 4-1 Bayern. AR went for 2-0 Bayern, to which PM said – Only 2? That’s a bit conservative. Do you mean a 2-0 thumping?
PM then went for 5-0 Bayern.
So there it is. Journos & punters purporting to be backers of Scottish Football forecasting a hammering, except Rough who gets challenged when he goes for 2-0.
Like Huns and wishful thinking.
That’s what we’re up against in this country and that’s the sort of attitudes this result stuffs down certain throats.

Its bad luck for us.Whichever way you look at it.
Just watched it back.
We might have gotten a foul if the ball had been anywhere near the incident / players.
Not a Ref in Europe is giving a free kick against Bayern at home at that time in the game for that.
Painful to say but we have to be realistic.
Well plenty on here saying we had no chance then a past few weeks. Personally I felt Celtic really could win this and I am so glad to have been right. We really could have won this.
Sadly we didn’t win and sadly we now have to qualify next season. That is no walk in the park.
It is 50/50 re being seeded. Ironically that goal cost us a coefficient point as well.
Irish Premier Sports didn’t dismiss the clear error by the referee. They said even if the referee didn’t deem it a foul on Maeda he has a clear head knock and he has to stop the game.
Good performance unlucky not to get to extra time.

I thought the ref gave us very little. But we’re out because we didn’t take at least two guilt edged chances tonight. We should have scored 3, maybe more. A fantastic performance from one of the best Celtic sides in decades.
