BBC need to fortify or shut the doors

It doesn’t really matter to me how other people write their own history.  If Queens Park claim to be the same Club as the Queen of Clubs, they are welcome to, as long as they respectfully allow me to express scepticism.  Fortunately, Queens Park’s business model is not dependent on making such an outlandish claim.

A whole lot of nonsense has been written on the subject of a recently liquidated football club, “it was the holding company that was liquidated”, when it wasn’t actually a holding company, and then we have claims about advice from a “panel of the London Stock Exchange”, which was quickly withdrawn.

We are asked to believe that a football club cannot go out of business.  It’s an interesting thought, not one I subscribe to, but interesting nonetheless.  If you are happy with this belief, fair play to you, it doesn’t matter what anyone else believes.

I’ve met Jim Spence.  He’s a guy who emerged from the Dundee Untied fanzine world and established a reputable career in the game.  His affinity for United has never been hidden, nor should it be.  United, as all clubs, have gone through periods of turmoil but Jim has called things as he has seen them, with his own club, and with others.

This week Jim made a comment about a football club which went into liquidation.  It was more tempered than comments made by a former manager and director of the liquidated club, by the chief executive of its successor club, by all the contemporary newspaper coverage, and by the successor club’s current head of PR.  Despite this, Jim has been on the receiving end of a sustained campaign by the thought police.

Jim may privately think what those at the successor club once said, but if he also wants to express those thoughts, the consequences can be acute.

He’s not alone.  I know others in the media who have told me straight that they are not prepared to touch the Newco/Sameco subject, the resultant hassle is not what they got into journalism for.

Charlotte Fakes has given us a glimpse into how powerful people can manipulate and control Scotland.  It has given reason to pause ahead of next year’s big decisions.  The BBC and only the BBC are strong enough to stand up against bullying, you can forget the commercial media for one simple reason, this subject is the equivalent of commercial self-harm.

It wouldn’t seem like the weekend without Rangers International writing about going legal on someone or other, although I suspect they’ll be content having played to the gallery with this one and not trouble the BBC, but questions remain for the BBC, no matter what happens next.

I consume enormous volumes of BBC output every month, it is my first port of call for news, and often my last.  It is one of the best aspects of British life, but if it can be intimidated like the commercial media, there is no point in it existing in the first place.

Fortify your journalists or shut the doors.

The situation is really quite simple.

Rangers were liquidated. This is a matter of public record and the evidence is there for all to see.

No further statements are required. And Zombies who wish to live in denial are never going to change their stance.

    WOW!

You guys have enabled me to raise a grand 125 for The Petrov Foundation.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

It’s a good cause and your support has made me feel very humble. It also is yet another demonstration of why the Celtic support are very special. I’m honoured to be a supporter of such a great club with such fantastic fans.

SFA thought Deidco were too big to fail. Their death was unthinkable to the SFA.

They set about making plans to avoid that unthinkable fact.

They colluded in a five way agreement.

They ignored, altered or stretched their own rules accordingly.

They failed to implement Uefa rules properly.

Despite all of their schemes, the club were liquidated and the assets sold off to Sevco.

Other than Craig Whyte, the SFA have effectively not held anyone accountable for this event.

They have given a free pass to all others.

The SFA enquiry found that no sporting advantage was gained by a decade of cheating by Deidco.

Jim Spence might just go back to Dundee Utd fanzines as they are more ethical.

Bbc only media outlet that can tell it like it is. Won’t lose any revenue as by law have to pay licence fee. Sadly fee payers been let down so far but one man tells the truth an look at reaction. Beeb need to stand up now. No other media outlet can afford the revenue drop of tellin truth. Bbc can simply bring it out in open. Scotland s dirty secret. The rangers are a brand new club albeit with the age old problems of the dead outfit, most notably bigotry an intimidation. What has Spence said that is so gravely different from quotes from traynor sir Walter etc. None are so blind as those who can’t see.

As I posted some days ago, the may or may not be deid, but they are still playing, staffed and watched by the same bunch of unsavouries.

What support,if any ,is Jim Spence getting from the journos union?

Think I have that answer for you.Today listening to “Off the ball”talking about the huns banning people,Billy Sloane told of a press conference at the hun lair, where the slug walked in,pointed at a journo, and said”If he stays there will be no press conference”The journo in question was forced to leave while the 7 others stayed.Solidarity,eh.

What encapsulates the whole ‘stupid stupid zombies’ theme for me is the image of thousands of them, led by sandy ‘legned’ jardine, standing outside and aggressively shouting at an empty Hampden stadium…

We are not going to fail! We have set a target and we are are going to exceed it. ;)

I plan to get signatures from fans as they go into the stadium at Tynecastle on the 14th of this month. It wont be an easy task but it could make the difference between getting the required numbers and not. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could and would help me do this. Please e-mail me at Morrisseythe23rd@aol.com if you wish to and can help. Thanks! HH

Indeed. On the face of it it looks like CG defrauded CW out of his possessions. The thing is when is CW going to court and would the whole sale be unravelled if CW won.

It is pretty clear the purchase of The Rangers was carried out by the existing owner CW using CG as an intermediary.

That must be breaking an insolvency law maybe a criminal one and it is high time the forces of law and order and justice got involved.

  19. My thoughts are with the family and friends of Miki67.

God Bless him. He battled very bravely against this terrible illness.

  20. Lionsroar67

There is a means of getting UEFA to investigate and it is covered in canalamar’s resolution.

They are. But even if Ibrox is closed and ‘Rangers’ is dropped from the name – the Zombies will never accept the truth.

As I’ve said before on here – none of them ever discuss football when I meet them. They know the truth even if they don’t accept it.

On another note, incidental after sad passing of miki67 i made point of goin to last game against rangers, knew it was last chance to lord it over them. If the new mob ever play us i Will not be within 20 miles of venue. They died. I was glad. The world is better because of it an no tribute act will change that. Have no interest in them an Will never watch them in flesh.

Shattered to hear the news about our CQN brother Miki67.

I always marvelled at Miki’s postings on all things Celtic related.

The love for the club and his fellow Tims oozed from his every word and his bravery in sharing his battle with cancer with us over the last months legendary.

Deepest sympathies to you and to Miki’s wife Viv and to all the family.

I am sure Miki67 will now be at peace in the best of Celtic company in heaven.

This site will be the poorer for his passing.

    May he rest in peace.

The equivalent of being 5-0 down as the referee prepares to blow the full-time whistle.

If the game isn’t officially over there is no chance of the end result being changed.
