BEATON IN CHARGE

JOHN BEATON will be in charge of the second derby double-header when Celtic take on Derek McInnes’ Ibrox side at Parkhead in the High Noon showdown on Sunday.

He will be assisted by David McGeachie and Jonathan Bell on the touchlines while Nick Walsh, who was the referee at Ibrox last weekend, will be at the controls in the VAR offices.

The champions go into the encounter following the humbling 3-0 loss in the Premier Sports League Cup quarter-final in Govan.

Martin O’Neill’s men have a 100 per cent record in the Premiership with six wins out of six and a victory over their Glasgow rivals will open up an eight-point gap so early in the campaign.

Celtic must realise a repeat of their inept performance in Govan will be unacceptable in a game that will be played at a venue packed with 60,000 of their own supporters after the blanket ban kept them out of Ibrox.
