‘BEAUTIFUL MOVER,’ BOSS HAILS STRIKER

ODSONNE EDOUARD was top of Neil Lennon’s personal Hit Parade again after his two-goal performance in the 6-0 rout over Ross County at Parkhead at the weekend.

The Celtic boss was spoilt for choice as he attempted to select a Man of the Match, but once more couldn’t see past the 21-year-old French magician.

With the champions leading 1-0 at the interval  following a strike from on-loan Mohamed Elyounoussi, Edouard kicked off the four-goal-in-nine-minute storm that dynamited the Dingwall outfit.

The elegant frontman snapped onto a Keith Watson error to roll the ball beyond gallant keeper Ross Laidlaw and he added another along with Callum McGregor and James Forrest to flatten the Highlanders.

Elyounoussi put the finishing touches to a fine performance with the sixth as the Hoops remained on top of the Premiership following Steven Gerrard’s side’s 1-1 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle.

Boss Lennon, speaking to the Celtic website, said: “I don’t want to wax lyrical about him every week, although he’s not that type of kid to get carried away, but you can see he’s in a good place.

“He’s a beautiful mover of the ball and his link-up play is getting better. I’m so happy he got the goal just after half-time because he deserved it.

“He’s always a threat. He complements the players that are around him, he’s become more and more reliable and the volume of goals is testament to his own improvement.”
