BERNARDO SEALS DEAL, BUENO ON WAY?

PAULO BERNARDO has finalised his £3.4million move to Celtic from Benfica after agreeing a five-year deal.

The 22-year-old Portuguese playmaker, who impressed during his season-long loan, finally put pen to paper to complete the switch to the champions.

And the Hoops are pursuing a loan deal for Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno who was a target from Brendan Rodgers in the January transfer window.

Brenardo has the formality of a medical to complete before joining up with his new team-mates after they return from their three-game tour of America with the final match against Chelsea in Indiana on Saturday evening, as stated in the Daily Mail.

Weeks of negotiating came to a successful conclusion when Bernardo agreed the switch, as CQN reported at the weekend.

The Portuguese playmaker impressed Rodgers during his season-long loan stay and the fee for the player was agreed.

The Lisbon giants will receive something in the region of 30 per cent of any future transfer profits.

The middle-of-the-park operator scored four goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops.

Meanwhlie, Spanish Under-21 international Bueno is back on the Celtic manager’s radar as he searches for back-up for Greg Taylor in the No.3 slot.

The defender has made 49 appearances for the Molineux outfit – scoring one goal – since joining the club’s academy from Areosa in 2019.

Expect an announcement in the next 72 hours.
