Best to Ledley, Goals Griffiths and Perpetual Movement Stefan

567

I read some discourse heading in the direction of Joe Ledley last night, which I can’t quite figure.  Joe had initially seemed keen to sign the contract which had been in his hands for several months.  Celtic wanted to get the deal done but it became clear this week that it wasn’t going to happen, and that Joe would leave under freedom of contract in the summer, if not this week.

This is the player’s absolute right.  He committed fully to the cause until full time on Wednesday, and when Celtic decided to accept a bid reportedly close to £1m, rather than let him run down his contract – most probably from the stand, he agreed to join Crystal Palace, who were almost certainly not top of his desired destinations.  Although he clearly pushed Palace all the way on the contract.

Joe could have just as easily free-wheeled for four months while continuing to collect his wages and shopping around for a new club, which would have suited him far more than Celtic.

Best wishes to Joe, I’m sure he’ll keep Palace up this season.

A formal welcome to Celtic to Leigh Griffiths.  His interview on Celtic TV last night betrayed an irresistible focus.  ‘What will you bring to Celtic?’  ‘Goals’.  That’s what it’s all about Leigh, score goals, lots of them.  Then score some more.

I was pleased Stefan Johansen got some game-time on Wednesday after 45 minutes for the youths on Tuesday; really hope we see him tomorrow.  Did you notice his movement on Wednesday?  Every time he passed the ball he sprinted into space.  Hope he gets a start tomorrow but most of all, let’s break a record.

  3. Big cup winners. I once posted that I occasionally went to st mirren games. My daughters get free tickets because they go to school in paisley. I also once went on a st mirren blog. I was actually having a go at them because their chairman was propping up the Hun.

Some of our more, errr how should I say this, stupid, posters noticed this and have ever thus tried to goad me about being a st mirren fan. Of course I pointed out the irony of their small mindededness (your are clearly not allowed to watch other teams). The other absolute irony is that I was outed by someone who saw me on the st mirren blog ( I didn’t change my monikor). They of course missed the irony of why they were on that site in the first place.

It has been used to belittle my views ever since and is now I believe what is called an urban myth. Antipodean Red and I laughed about the absurdity of it when I was over in oz.

Let me get this straight, in 2004 there were 1800 “Catholics” Scottish prisons. Do you have a breakdown of the reasons they were imprisoned? Not the socio/economic reasons, no, I am thinking more of the crimes which they committed and for which they were committed. Get me a breakdown as to whether a trial was involved, or whether the accused pleaded guilty to the charge, the Courts involved, and the sentences given. Then, and only then I might be able to form some kind of opinion as to why they were jailed, not just the fact that they were jailed.

They hate Neil for 2 reasons :

1 – he is an unrepentant Fenian from the occupied 6 counties

2 – because he is from said 6 counties they know they can’t scare him – believe me Neil was brought up in an environment were there was a regular risk to your life and armed men roamed the streets – these clowns

    Graham Spiers is correct.

If I had a nice pair of brogues and was part of the establishment Lennon demonstrates what is so disgusting about him and his ilk:

    1 he has ginger hair

2 he is from the North but supports them (make of that what you will)

3 he should go back home

4 (very important) he is not like Mr McMoist ( see what I did there)

5 SMSM KNOW HE IS ALL OF THE ABOVE because they WANT to believe it and their readers love it ….it sells.

On the other hand this type of squirrel journalism might be deliberately put in place because in the event of really bad news focus has to be shined an universal foe …Neil and his * type*

God bless the SFA….BECAUSE MANY DO NOT

Roll of Honour Download Campaign to be launched 8th February

Fans Against Criminalisation are delighted to announce plans to release the single ‘’Roll of Honour’’ in association with The Irish Brigade for the duration of the week beginning on 8th of February. This single will be available for download on iTunes. We would like to thank the band for kindly allowing us to use their song to help aid our campaign against the criminalisation of football supporters and the suppression of political expression.

Download the Roll of Honour any time in the week 8 -15 February inclusive and let’s get it into the UK Top 40 Singles Charts and embarrass the hypocrites who seek to criminalise us.

This particular song is a ballad about civil resistance and a struggle for basic human rights and it has been a favourite of the Celtic support for over a decade. Shamefully, the SNP’s Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act has resulted in the song becoming a target for Police Scotland and numerous arrests have been made as a result. From its outset FAC has sought to oppose this discriminatory piece of legislation and to defend the rights of football supporter’s which have been continually eroded since the Act’s introduction.

We call on the Celtic family from all corners of the globe to support this campaign by downloading the single to help raise funds to aid the legal costs of those whose lives are being torn apart by this disgracefully illiberal law and to help further publicise the hypocrisy inherent within the government’s position.
