Better have Dresden expose some weaknesses

851

Technically we’re not preseason anymore, but today’s friendly away to Dynamo Dresden is an important step.  There are six weeks before the end of August, with five Champions League qualifier match days in that time.

Tuesday’s gentle introduction to competitive challenges was probably a good place to start for Celtic, this week’s run-out at Murrayfield will allow more of the squad to get some miles under their belt, but you can be sure we will meet our match at some point in the next six weeks.  It would be better for all that Dresden expose as many weaknesses as possible (at the time of writing that doesn’t look likely).

As usual, the mantra for these occasions is: no injuries.

Legia Warsaw are on league duty this evening. I hope we have someone watching.

To be honest, I would love to see one of our boys give Dresden’s thug CB a real dull yin.

I wonder if playing two entirely different teams in each half has upset our momentum?

    SFTB,

That is your opinion. Others have chastised me in the past for defending the board, NL, PL, Efe Ambrose and others.

However, recently I have become more frustrated with PL. It gives me no pleasure as I feel he has generally done a fine job for us. Some of the abuse directed to him has been disgusting.

Griffiths should be playing through the middle, not stuck out on the wing.

  7. As poor as Izaguirre looked with his clearance at their goal, with each replay viewed it looks like he did well just to reach the ball before it crossed the line.

By the sound of it Griffs is doing the right thing and keeping away from the thugs!

  9. Ref is a total prat. Having ignored thuggery now books Charlie for a lot less. Just want this one over.

Initially thought Izzy should have blootered it but then thought of what a clash with the post might have done, correct decision it’s a friendly and I would have probably been angry if he’d hurt himself.
