Offensive, insulting and abusive language is not condoned on CQN nor anywhere else but if you’re mumbling to this effect while typing more prosaic comments we don’t have a problem. If, by some clever use of technology, I discretely caught you on mic while recording a feature for CQN and broadcast your words it would be my fault, not yours.
If Neil Lennon addressed insulting or abusive language at an official or opponent then he should be correctly disciplined, but if, as reported, television microphones picked up randomly comments there is no case to answer.
We’re getting back to the days when directional radio mics were used to pick up sound from Celtic fans getting off buses outside Falkirk Stadium in 2009. This one feels opportunistic and is not balanced by audio from other technical areas under scrutiny. If this is how the SFA want to control technical areas, they should issue advice to this effect and introduce appropriate measures, not attempt to discipline Neil Lennon without precedent.

Seems to me they’re simply terrified that Lennon might hang around for 9 in a row. It wouldn’t be the same treatment for any other man.
Lenny lucky he wasn’t kettled and served with a banning order from every Football Ground in Scotland. JimGoodwinisaneffingfannycsc

She would simply speak to the fact that she made the call. They will no doubt have the recording of the call if it were a 999. She would simply confirm the circumstances she came to make call. Thereafter she simply states that she saw or heard nothing.
Best advice I would give her would be to seek legal advice and or repost when PFayr is about.
I have some experience of providing names of hostile witnesses and I’m not a Cop.

” Mark” – spoke of Rankers- unchallenged on the name, spoke of league hopping, harshly punished etc etc…,
SSB, Alison Robbie never asked Longmuir a question.

Dunno why it took the SFA to cite Lenny, alleged choice language and lateral movement isn’t that a job for FOCUS?

Well, kiddo.. That is No Surprise.. Tae Me.
You know my thoughts oan How a Celtic Manager should Behave.. IN PUBLIC..
so Ah wull not
Go over them,again..
Suffice to say..
My advice to Neil..
” At All Times when You appear in Public, You Must Keep in Mind.. That
You are the Manager and Also a Prominent Representative, of the Celtic Football and Athletic Club,
so you Must Conduct Yourself in such a Manner as was to expected of Caesar’s Wife..
which MUST BE ABOVE REPROACH.”

Citing Lenny for swearing….Oh Dear.
They really do hate us, that must be unprecedented in football.
I will tell you what, if PL does not fight this, and doesn’t get Lenny off, they can stick it where the sun don’t shine.
I will give up totally, it’s the biggest joke I have ever heard.
Neil should tell them that he will answer the charges when Steak bake tells us what he whispered in Neil’s ear .
Until then they can go take a —- to themselves.

A classic example of the double standards we are being subjected to.
hendrix67 18:41:
That’s all she has to say if cited. It might still be a harrowing experience if called but what I would say is that evidence is on occasion agreed by the Defence and PF without the need to actually call a witness. From what you post she might not get called but there are no guarantees. I would have thought the neighbour that asked her to make the call might be a more relevant witness as well as those that saw the alleged (not yet been proved) assault.

The campaign against NEIL FRANCIS LENNON continues relentlously……he shall not be moved….!!!!!!!!
On here and elsewhere the lack of response from the Club on a number of recent matters, inc today,is disheartening to a growing number of supporters.

The final score on football law

EPL have voted for their own FFP version. About time.
This attack on Celtics manager is orchestrated by Campbell Ogilvie. It’s a follow up to two events ; firstly Lennys highlighting Maddens terrible decisions for both teams and Celtics support via the club website. Ogilvie has decided to retaliate after discussing with other like minded anti Celtic people.
We should never forget Ogilvie administered the sectarian policies at the Ibrox club for years prior to David Murray. Ogilvie then administered and benefitted from the EBTs when David Murray brought them in. Campbell Ogilvie is not the independent, transparent leader Scottish football needs.
I am glad Ogilvie has decided to take Celtic on with such a petty issue , directed at the manager. It shows really show how anti Celtic , Ogilvie and the SFA are. Imagine they did this to Sir Alex—- no chance.
To be fair
The royal boat club have called Oxford cox oskar to a disciplinary hearing on friday..akallegations of swearing repeatedly during the boat race and heard clearly… on bbc1.
Possible punishments include him being banned for life and Cambridge being awarded this years race
Ooops… just realised its 3rd april and not 1st

Disheartened would be tame, I am totally disgusted.
I and my family spend a fair few bob each year with Celtic, if they can afford to lose over a grand from one family, their choice.
All they have to do is fight this nonsence.

An almost unbelievable turn of events. A manager charged for swearing ! Only Neil Lennon. Only in Scotland. Celtic FC, take the gloves off now !
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Fully agree …. If the SFA take this further, our Board need to forcibly intervene ….. There is an abundance of evidence of managers’ reaction to situations being totally ignored……..particularly at the ‘favoured’ former club…
HH
We ARE in real danger of becoming a doormat.. This is Scots football when we have the moral and legal high ground..
LNS found a guilty verdict, they were liquidated..
Yet we allow ourselves to be dictated too by such disreputable people.
What Is going on?
Now NFL on a trumped up naughty word charge…
For heavens sake Celtic , grow some bollocks and answer back!
On the authorities using the evidence picked up by the Mic, I’m not so sure that they can use it unless the persons, including Neil clearly knew that recording equipment was being used for the specific purpose as a deterrent and or being used as evidence gathering for potential breach of the code of conduct. Or for that matter for detecting a crime, in this case a Breach of the Peace.
As a comparison, at matches I have witnessed Police Officers videoing Fans, they clearly wear high visibility vests that clearly indicate what they are doing i.e. they are doing it overtly and do not need empowered under RIPSA. They are also doing it legally, whether you agree with this, it is another debate.
If evidence was to be gathered covertly i.e. without the person(s) being made aware then authorisation under RIPSA would be required.
If Neil was being brought to book as somebody in authority physically heard him without the evidence of recording material then that is a different matter but from what I gather it is based on Mic evidence.
Whatever the case I am sure Neil’s Lawyer will be on the case.
Keep the Faith!

Steviebhoy – omg, a hat trick podium , amazing work and respect
Paul67 – I can only say again, thank you for reporting from a common sense perspective in challenging times when the plight of Scottish Football is challenging all.
So how many mics have been directed at the big Ingerlish fud who manages ICT?
On a weekly basis he either smashes up equipment, swears at the top of his voice or almost comes to blows with fellow managers, all in full view of the cameras.
How come he gets away with it?
