Offensive, insulting and abusive language is not condoned on CQN nor anywhere else but if you’re mumbling to this effect while typing more prosaic comments we don’t have a problem. If, by some clever use of technology, I discretely caught you on mic while recording a feature for CQN and broadcast your words it would be my fault, not yours.
If Neil Lennon addressed insulting or abusive language at an official or opponent then he should be correctly disciplined, but if, as reported, television microphones picked up randomly comments there is no case to answer.
We’re getting back to the days when directional radio mics were used to pick up sound from Celtic fans getting off buses outside Falkirk Stadium in 2009. This one feels opportunistic and is not balanced by audio from other technical areas under scrutiny. If this is how the SFA want to control technical areas, they should issue advice to this effect and introduce appropriate measures, not attempt to discipline Neil Lennon without precedent.

This could well be the straw, they have done nothing re the years of cheating, the years of the stolen CL money,,in all honesty, I believe the time has come for them to stand up for the club, aka the supporters.

I don’t think hendrix67 or me were suggesting they claimed to be speaking for the PF mate. However, It is their duty to report the full facts including details of all witnesses. It is then the PF’s decision what witnesses they call. As I posted earlier the Defence and PF decide what witnesses to call in advance of any trial.
She does though, as you rightly point out, have the right not to give a witness statement.

I read Hugh McDonald in The Herald (provided free in a cafe) today. He was good value in interpreting the recent fan survey and, fair play to him, he mentioned that the press were voted to be one of the least trustworthy news sources and, as he put it, “only saved from relegation by Twitter and Facebook”
Nonetheless, The Herald editorial, on the same subject, managed to utter some sevcovian nonsense over 3 or 4 passages about the failures of football’s governing bodies without mentioning their own low rating.

Unfortunately, typical Herald overall. I have not bought it for almost 2 years now and I used to buy it regularly.

Absolutely……that mic invaded his privacy, and cannot be used as evidence unless it’s purpose was authorised specifically to record evidence for possible future procedings in a Court of Law… The SFA have broken the Privacy Laws here…

i’m an auld supporter now, no longer a jungle jim, in my fifties and spent many a decade screamin’ and shoutin’ at the injustices against our club and at the board i might add…….its always the movers and shakers who call the shots! we’re always shafted by the blind faith card. i have often thought of chucking it….£500 extra in my back pocket but when it comes to it i’m just a stupid celtic man.

Burden of proof a lot less for a SFA disciplinary hearing and it’s not a court of law. Using video evidence with sound they’ll claim.
Would like to know if there have been any similar cases though and who reported this one. Did the 4th official know about it at the time or has the youtube clip been used? Holes all over this.
They seem that desperate to do Neil there’s more chance of lip readers being employed in the Scottish game than goal line technology.
