Beware snooping TV mics

640

Offensive, insulting and abusive language is not condoned on CQN nor anywhere else but if you’re mumbling to this effect while typing more prosaic comments we don’t have a problem. If, by some clever use of technology, I discretely caught you on mic while recording a feature for CQN and broadcast your words it would be my fault, not yours.

If Neil Lennon addressed insulting or abusive language at an official or opponent then he should be correctly disciplined, but if, as reported, television microphones picked up randomly comments there is no case to answer.

We’re getting back to the days when directional radio mics were used to pick up sound from Celtic fans getting off buses outside Falkirk Stadium in 2009. This one feels opportunistic and is not balanced by audio from other technical areas under scrutiny. If this is how the SFA want to control technical areas, they should issue advice to this effect and introduce appropriate measures, not attempt to discipline Neil Lennon without precedent.

  1. no, I’M Neil Lennon “i’ll never walk alone” (fourstonecoppi )

Aye, and you are of course correct, I’m just angry, it will subside, and I will be screaming about the injustice again, but it really disny help, when those charged with looking after the club seemingly don’t care.

As BT says, I will always support the club, but not the PLC.

It’s all gone beyond a joke now, if you ask me

    It’s really quite pathetic

Sadly, I’m starting to feel the same about Scotland and I was born there

  4. 67heaven- I must admit to becoming very disillusioned with Scottish football, the meek approval and promotion of everything that happens over in Govan compared to the persistent persecution of our club and everything associated with it.

But worst of all is the perceived (well by me anyway) lack of fight by the custodians of the club to defend us and to expose the croneyism, fudging and out and out lies that is constantly propagated in the media and by the game’s Administrators in favour of the rehabilitation of the one club in Scottish football that matters.

I am watching, Mr Lawwell- I can find plenty of other uses for my £600 SB money.

  5. Hi Lhads

I remember the then England manager Graham Taylor swearing like fu… oops sorry, on a nationally aired documentary and it was light-heartedly celebrated by everyone because of the bleeps used.

Except the SFA of course.(obviously it stands for Say F@?% All )

Sandaza sacked for a breach of contract, i.e. having a private conversation about his contract, expectations and ambitions broadcast without his consent.

    Today’s DR:

    >Alexander spoke exclusively to Record Sport yesterday after becoming increasingly frustrated at his position.

The 35-year-old has been gagged by the club since December and ordered only to speak to the club’s inhouse media team.<

Disregarding a clear instruction from one's employer can be viewed as a significant breach of contract amounting to gross misconduct.

Will Neil Alexander be suspended with immediate effect pending investigation?

Chuckles is making Francisco's case for him!

But Alexander chose to break rank yesterday in a heartfelt attempt to speak directly to the club’s supporters and to deny suggestions that greed has cost him his future at Ibrox

  9. Has Lenny + Celtic said they won’t dispute the charge?

I’m pretty sure the answer is no. No point in getting all worked up about it unless Lenny is found guilty at the hearing.

  10. St.John.Doyle on

Just wondering now Lenny has been charged by the SFA will PL issue him with a banning order from the ground until his case is heard by the authorities.

Well that is what the club do to the Green Brigade the club will have to be seen to be consistent

Think I was on standby for CSA night but other events now taken priority , so can’t make it ( even if I get ticket )

I take it that’s the night your talking about ?

  12. The board say the do stand up for the club and the support, I may be mistaken but i fail to see any evidence of this, by close of business tomorrow a statement will appear on the club website about disciplinary matters, so predictable and weak.

  13. If Ronaldo is not interfering with play at the second goal , I’m a Dutchman .

The money is running out now…. This new club is progressing towards admin, and the SFA will have some explaining to do when that happens

  18. Dreadful from SFA. Has an organisation ever worked so hard to justify every prejudice you have about them?

That’s the one, will catch you for a pint soon. Will be making an appearance Saturday but not committing to CQN meet. For one reason only travelling with a few Bhoys and we have plans before it.

Would our greatest ever manager have used such language towards an opposition player?

  21. darwinsbeautifulidea on

Why have the club put up with this for so long, especially as uefa are very strongly against bigotry racism ,the club should get a dossier together and ask uefa to look into scottish football

  22. Craigellachie10 on

The article in the Herald about the fans survey lists the top issues preventing people attending football matches. The top 5 were ticket costs (54%), work commitments (43%), Kick Off times (38%), family commitments (31%), transport costs (24%). Whether there are 10, 12, 14, 16 or 22 in the top league would do nothing for any of these issues.

There seems to be little reason to believe that a 14 or 16 team top league would improve crowds and it is more than likely to dilute quality.
