Billy Dodds, who was named by the BBC as a beneficiary of Rangers Employee Benefit Trust, wrote in today’s Sunday Herald on the subject. He alleges Rangers paid him money, which should have been taxed as income, through an EBT.
Dodds wrote, “David Murray came to me and asked if I would receive a payment that was due to me, after tax, through the EBT trust. And I said that I would. It was money that was owing to me when I had six months left on my contract and I moved to Dundee United. After the tax was deducted, that money was put in the trust fund.”
What happened to the “tax… deducted” is the crucial question. Dodds is clear. This was money due to him through his contract of employment which should have been taxed. The seriousness of the allegations against Rangers just cranked up a notch – and from a surprising source.

Just watching this charity game, it reminded of the Luis Figo charity game played at the Algarve stadium after Euro 2004.
It was like this game, a mixture of players, ex players, film stars. etc.
In the 2nd half, ‘Gazza’, the cheeky chappy, everybody’s pal, came on.
He was nutmegged by someone and ran after him and tried a vicious lunge on him.
The only time any booing was heard in the stadium all night.
You can’t take ibrox out of the boy…
+++++
I remember watching that and thinking **censored** heck. There was a glut of these games on at the time – Monaco F1 friendly etc. Nary an ill-tempered moment in any of them, but that stood out – don’t know whether it was because of who it was or just because of the sheer vindictiveness that went so wholly against the grain.
*(and ladies of course!!!)
Saint stivs,

It was so pathetic, you had the likes of Michael Schumacher and Bobby Charlton on the pitch, and the thug does something like that, despicable.
Who’s that in goals for England? Theakston? Old. Peculiar.

Scary tho, not watching and having a decent wedge on it. Got up today, checked lottery, checked score – jackpot. Free money :-)

The Exiled Time –
I came in last night just before kick off after a fine evening out with Mrs Baldie. Stuck a fiver on there being 3 or more goals in the game, just to give me an interest. Bet up within 14 minutes!

Me again. Sorry but lost track of what time it is there. Also vague on what time it is here. Moved off nudist beach to taverna. Queuing for souvlaki, I realise I have seen this girl before. Today. Naked. Jeez. She lives in Denmark but comes from Tralee. Funny ol game innit?

The wee sh*te is still up terrorising her Daddy :-(
**shouts: get tae –removed– sleep**
Aye, super day here. Smashing weather. Alex spent much of the day in the tent puddling about on her tablet and Madi spent most of the time bouncing around on the trampoline and ignoring the shade we set up next to ‘her’ chair; preferring, when she was off the trampoline, to sabotage the tent.
Good times, good times.
Hope you and yours are well.

PaddyG Cheers mate.
gordybhoy64 –
We had a curry from Kismot (St. Leonard’s Street) on Friday and it was superb. Service was also excellent – friendly, efficient, unpretentious. The Deshi Khani dish is lovely and will be either Lamb or Chicken, “depending on what my mum has cooked” as the Maitre D’ told me! You’ll probs have to book if going at the weekend. Well worth it!
Ramsey clattered again….lol

Ouch, Ramsay took a sore one from Sheringham.
Should have added that The Auld Hoose next door has a selection of real ales for pre/post meal. Mind you, when we were in the jukebox seemed stuck on Extreme Noise Terror!! Probably does that to encourage someone to put 10 bob in!
Kudos to Ramsay, I think there’s only four or five guys that have turned out for every socceraid – he’s one of them.
Gordon Ramsey looks in real pain, brilliant!!!
Rush and Dalglish there – mind them in their pomp?
frighteningCSC
Not keen on Ramsay, but that was thuggish from Sheringham.
” Bootin’ celebrity huns…When rangers die…”
I still have a wee laugh when I think about Skinty selling the mighty gers for £1…….. And I laugh out loud on recollecting the LL engaging ‘mute’ on the subject ……. They tried to turn it into a positive, spinning that it would give
The MBB “even more millions” for his war chest..
FECKIN’ HUNBELIEVABLY HILARIOUS……… That has got to be the business deal EVER…. And the most humiliating / embarrassing piece of business EVER ……. ANYWHERE..
IF I GAVE MY GRANDSON £1 for a sweetie at the shop, he would look up at me……..”what about inflation, grandad ?…….. No Gonnae get much for £1 these days” ………
Seriously, though …..Why didn’t someone like the ‘Blue kkknight’ step in and over £2………..!!
dirtymac – Teddy did him good style, possibly damage done when he landed on him!
Seriously, I hope it’s just minor. Everyone turning out deserves great credit.
