Blinkered Views risky punt against St Mirren

In his Bookies Corner article for the current issue of CQN Magazine, columnist, Blinkered Views, suggested St Mirren offered good value for a punt on relegation.  I spoke to him when he submitted the article and suggested, “Surely Dunfermline?”  He agreed Dunfermline were most likely for the drop but they offered no value.  St Mirren, on the other hand, were 9/1 for the drop and he made a good case why this was worth a bet.

St Mirren promptly spoiled Christmas for thousands (not your or me) by coming from behind to beat Rangers but that has been their only win in 8 league games.  We also don’t need to be reminded that when visiting St Mirren Park, form is a poor guide.  Celtic exited the Scottish Cup there a week after beating Saints 7-0 at Celtic Park.  They are a team who can raise their game for the big occasion and the visit of Celtic, live on TV, is as big as it gets around Paisley.

Paddy McCourt has enjoyed his visits there and has been key to Celtic collecting the points a couple of times.  Don’t be surprised if he makes a match winning appearance from the bench.

Here is hoping the Celts put on a cracking show tomorrow. I genuinely think we are ready to go up a gear now and will not let them get a look in during this second half of the season. We are strengthening all the time and Neil has never been more focussed and that is Very Good news for all Celtic fans.

I sat late last night till almost 3 bells watching and re-watching a 20 mins spell of the huns game on 28th Dec just for the singing.

At the time – being hauf cut – i didnt quite realise just how good the atmosphere was after the new Joe Joe Super Joe scored. It was superb! And here’s a wee taster…….

George McCluskey is a fantastic guy.

But I’m sure that even he would agree that he could do tens of things that the Buzzbomb couldn’t do but that Bobby could do thousands of things that he couldn’t do.

Your Faither could spot a player….

will light a candle tomorrow St Patricks Anderson..

also for my buddy Jamie who called me on his way home from work to tell me his grandfather had died suddenly, two months ago hid grandmother died, his father is in a bad place right now, he is a lovely lad from Arbroath and after working with me is now a tim..

he is the reason I am working tomorrow…

  17. St Stivs,

I normally sit in 113 just along from the GB and they do know how to get things going, but for the 2nd Huns game on the bounce I ended up further away than I wouldve liked (although not quite the 7000 miles away that I was back for the 3-0 game!), as a mate of mine took me to the Investors club…..the beer was flowing before during (HT) and after in there.

Glad you had a ball in with them. Bet it was slightly less messy and les sway-ay than the Jungle though….. ;-)

PS – My mate saw his Windfall no up on the big screen and thought he’d won the 15k………turns out he won the £50 vouchers for 2nd prize……..was wee bit gutted :-)

  18. I really think we should have a CQN day in the Bon Accord, well a whisky day….(plenty of real ales too)

It’s not getting opened yet….not yet! Well overdue a whisky sesh with a couple of old soaks….!

  20. Will jelavic play tomorrow? How will his frame of mind be after the unsettling transfer talk? Or maybe that won’t be worthy of comment……….

P.S. Rangers should sign joey Barton. The classless b**tards deserve each other.

I am off Skiing for a week in Switzerland tomorrow and will be leaving in about 3 hours time. But I am sad?… Sad because I might not get to hear instantly the Hun demise.

Worried just in case I am going to miss all the fun of the imploding Hun. The Champagne has been in the fridge for months, I would be gutted if their breasts went North and I wasn’t here to witness the old media fall over themselves to save their Lamb take aways and my Champagne in the fridge for months would remained uncorked…!

So I am going to be selfish here Ghuys….. I hope their breasts don’t take that great trip up the road before I come back from Skiing, the reasons being obvious…. Let them suffer another week I say, it will do them good!

I will be testing my iPhone skills in the next few days.. ;)

    God Bless you all,
