The champions face the San Siro aces at Parkhead on Saturday July 25, as reported by respected Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It will be a crucial encounter with the Hoops getting ready to launch their bid for a sixth successive title with the first league game scheduled for the following weekend.

According to reports, AC Milan will play in Glasgow before heading on to their pre-season camp in Australia and Indonesia.

THE ITALIAN JOB…Celtic players and fans celebrate Scott McDonald’s late winner against AC Milan on a memorable Champions League evening at Parkhead in October 2007.

Like Celtic, the Italians are on the look-out for a new manager following the sacking of Massimiliano Allegri after they finished fifth in the league and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric are among the club’s top stars.

The last time they played in the east end of Glasgow, Milan coasted to a 3-0 Champions League win in November 2013 on an evening Virgil van Dijk and Co would like to forget.

A much happier memory for the Hoops fans was the 2-1 victory over the-then world club champions in October 2007 when Scott McDonald claimed the late winner.
