Bogus issues and a Good Old Celtic debate

1020

I’ve not spent a lot of time online this week (work sometimes creeps in) but can’t believe the amount of traction that notion that Sevco would somehow be able to acquire SFA membership of a dead club, with all associated benefits, but be in a position to dictate set terms on how past misdeeds of Rangers would be recorded.

This is a bogus debate which serves only to deflect from the more serious issues facing Sevco, namely, do they have circa £25m to pay their way this season?  If not, their pedantic views of disciplinary matters are moot, although they may be used as a principled excuse to fold a football club.

On more positive matters……….

Tony Hamilton asked me into the Celtic TV to discuss various issues surrounding the club.  We spoke about how recent events elsewhere have had a galvanising impact on supporters of Celtic and other clubs, where Celtic’s future should be.  I also gave a breakdown of what the death of Rangers would mean financially to Celtic, with or without Champions League group stage qualification, talked about how it would benefit the entire Scottish game if we found a new league to play in, and the great atmosphere we have at Celtic Park these days – which you can experience if you buy a season ticket, which you absolutely-without-a-doubt-should!

Do it now.  The video is below:

Try 0871 226 1888 – I believe you’ll have more luck buying a season ticket there than here, thus pleasing mr Lawwell very much indeed. Hope that helps.

Another exciting season lies ahead of us, and this one has the potential to be one of the most interesting in our history. CQN Magazine is about to relaunch for the season and at the publishers, 241 Media, we are looking for someone to join our team in advertising and sales for the project.

There will also be opportunities on our other titles, and on forthcoming projects.

Anyone with a background in advertising and sales, and who fancies this, should get in touch with me at jfknut1@yahoo.co.uk and we can take it from there.

    Thanks in advance friends

A question: why is this sort of analysis not appearing in the MSM?

Answer: nothing in terms of how football is administered/governed/commented on in Bonnie Scotland has changed and if/when Sevco return to SPHell, that reptile of an institution and all their pathetic toadies will devour Celtic and supporters like little flying insects. The ultimate answer for us remains to GET OUT of this rancid swamp before the beast returns.

Oh, BRTH, before I go, just one comment on your article. Research shows that physical chastisement is an ineffective method to employ in changing behaviour. So, in order to effect change in a hun’s behaviour, you have to kill them off. If you dont succeed in doing this, the only solution is to have nothing to do with them ever again. GET OUT Celtic, please!

  17. BRTH,

Excellent as usual. Let me add another little piece of information. The original Trustees of the EBT scheme, who were based in Jersey, got more than a little nervous about the way the scheme was being operated.

They resigned , which prompted an almighty scramble to find someone willing to take over those duties.

Now, it takes more than a bit of a mess for Trustees to give up the highly lucrative fees involved for running a Trust with the amount of money MIH and Rangers had invested. The start point for the nervousness was the vanilla template used by beneficiaries to request loans.

Was it even believable that almost all of these beneficiaries needed a loan for the same purpose ? The answer is of course it isn’t believable , and that’s another layer of evidence which should prove that the entire process was a sham.

In other news, haven’t Souness and Smith been very quiet recently ? I wonder why?

‘The Celtic Family Pray For Kyle & His Family’

We are rightly very proud of our bond, we call ourselves family, we are largely brought even closer than most fans of most clubs because of the historical oppressive treatment afforded to our club, our fans, our people.

Today, it is more important than ever that the ‘Celtic Family’ pull together and in unison provide the family of young Kyle Whyte, 20, of Moray with our sincere best wishes and our full support.

For those not familiar with the young fan in question, Kyle attended the recent pre-season friendly against Ajax, in Amsterdam.

Unfortunately Kyle took unwell at the airport whilst awaiting his flight home and now is on a life support machine.

Kyle it would appear has been a very unfortunate individual health wise and most of his young life has been tarnished by the presence of a rare blood disorder.

Having had a bone marrow transplant in 2009, it was hoped that Kyle would go on to live a full and healthy life, unfortunately the recent tragedy which see’s him clinging to life in a Amsterdam hospital appears to have put paid to such an optimistic outlook.

My first hope is that he recovers quickly and is able to return home, my second is that he goes on to attend many more Celtic games as a fighting fight young man.

Kyle and his family are clearly very brave and very motivated individuals. Kyle today and for as long as is necessary will be very much in my thoughts and I will pray for him and the entire Whyte family.

I hope the Celtic Family can come together at this difficult time and express their well wishes and to pray for young Kyle.

    WE ARE ALL KYLE WHYTE!!

    God bless the young man

    Great read.

    This but jumps out:

“or was he moving some money through the Rangers account and getting it back shortly after with in a different form”

That could be interpreted as placement and concealment?

Do you think there is a chance, and I don’t for one second accuse anyone of this, that there may come to light some form of money laundering ?

    Again, great read. As always.

  24. Quite an interesting article re Sports Science at ManCity.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18887653

    Key points seem to be:

Lot of investment in sports science right across epl teams – MCity are not unique.

England places much more emphasis on Sports Science than Italy.

I know Celtic place some importance on this, but I seriously hope we approach it properly. It is a variable we can control at relatively little cost. We cannot buy the best players in the world, but we can get the absolute most out of the guys we can afford.

Unfortunately, looking at the lack of running our team sometimes does, body shapes of certain individuals, apparent lack of physical strength etc – I fear we are ‘playing at it’ a bit, and not developing this area like we should be.

  25. Afternoon CQN , excelent interview Paul, maybe you could get a job in the media must be some vacancies coming up at Radio shortbread.

Looking forward to next week hopefully we hit the ground running and I trust Neil to pick the bhoys to win the 1st leg and give us the platform to progress to the next qualifying round.

I would just like to point out that I have seen Paul Brennan wearing a tie.

However, I am reliably informed that he only ever buys ties that come with matching boxers!

Therefore I conclude that he conducted this interview whilst going commando so to speak.

    This may explain something…….
