Bolingoli, the shirt doesn’t fit.

I get the wisdom in including Olivier Ntcham i and Boli Bolingoli in the training camp. The former may yet have a role to play (outside his own box) at the club, Bolingoli, though, can only be there to maintain his fitness ahead of a move.

Least season’s calamitous events started with Boli giving the First Minister permission to interrupt our season.  He was lucky we didn’t lose the league by a small margin attributable to him. The shirt doesn’t fit.

  1. Seems like it’s another Celtic transfer window . Nothing changes at our club . It’s been reported we’ve been after a few player but we seemingly always get beat to the draw . Still we should all be used to it .

  2. With Italy from the very first game, but Spain the better team on the night, needed to win in the 90 though.

    Viva Italia!

  3. prestonpans bhoys on

I thought either team should beat England if they win. However I was more convinced that the Italians would certainly win because of their mentality and structure.👍

  4. IMHO Spain were the best side on the night but no matter what whoever wins the morra will scud that tiring Italian mob.

  5. !!Bada Bing!! on

Why no goalline camera for the penalties? UEFA have decided to try and calm down the VAR stuff, and bookings, 2 huge betting markets now

I would like to see Morata pen again, as poor as it was…I thought that the GK was off his line, no replays from the goal line camera?

  6. Hand on heart I thought Spain were the better side tonight but by not enough for it to be a hard luck story. They won the midfield battle but I felt Italy sorted that in extra time .

Rio Ferdinand said afterwards that England are better than both these teams. Would it not be possible for the BBC to get a grown up to give analysis? Playing at home is a massive advantage for England however.

Jimtim at 10.43. Missing out on players according to newsnow clickbait sites? Interesting thing is if we sign this swedish boy it’s came from nowhere same as Ozaze. The leaks generating from Celtic seemed to have dried up. About time. HH

Yes I agree, Spain were the better football team – however there is steely desire in this Italian team – I believe they will win the trophy.

On Rio Ferdinand – he is English, a former international player and of course a supporter. I notice nothing wrong with him, or, the other pundits. The commentators on the other hand can be sickeningly sycophantic – like over-excited schoolboys.

(Big)Archie MacPherson reminds us that we are no different – remember 25k turning up at Hampden singing that we were “going to the Argentine” to win the World Cup. Another disaster ensued – excruciating but for wee Archie’s goal.

I do not think the Denmark game is a forgone conclusion – the Danes are dangerous & proud, previous winners & they believe in themselves. We might just find this out for ourselves in the first CL qualifier.

  9. Spain were the better team, Italy won. Good luck to them.

England are strong favourites to win the tournament. Good luck to them.

Fair comment on Ferdinand. Couldn’t agree more about the commentators. Just watching the highlights on ITV , terrible pundits, just terrible .

Do you know what the story is with the latest share issue?

No I don’t, but I would like to think that we have some options.

:). I think you know it but didn’t mean us, we’re a grown up, profitable business that doesn’t need regular share issues or handouts for working capital. No need for “options” for share issues that dilute existing equity value. We have access to credit, we can carry some debt.

I meant them, you referenced their more well-off fans being more inclined to invest in them since the win the league, I was wondering about their recent share issue, not underwritten and basically a begging letter to their fans to pay off loans that mature in the next 6 months

  12. Denmark, like Belgium have produced some special players over the years. Preben Elkjaer a particular favourite of mine.

For me , England haven’t shown enough to be considered favourites to win the Euros. It will be interesting to see if they can put in a dominant performance to justify the hype.

    ———

    Incorrect.

Reference to Oddschecker confirms that Italy are generally priced around 5/6 favourite to lift trophy. England are widely available at 11/8 before SF.

Based on current Italy price, and unless England produce an above average performance in winning their SF, it would be reasonable to assume that should England qualify, firms would be offering roughly 5/6-10/11 each of the pair to lift the trophy.

By no stretch can England be described as “strong favourites”.

That 1986 Denmark team was a fabulous team.

  16. melbourne mick

No, Mick, you told me where St Kilda, Melbourne got its’ name, from the Lady of St Kilda, and I have in turn discovered how that Sailing Ship itself got its’ name, via ‘Beside The Yarra’ and the sad story of Lady Grange, which itself has a Jacobite connection from the 18th C, and not in a good way, if truth be told. Now is there still an Acland Street in Melbourne itself somewhere, because if there is, it is part of the history of how part of Melbourne is named after St Kilda.

    Totally 100% in agreement .

Reading the news on this site regarding the quality of players we appear to be chasing is sobering stuff.

One is quoted to have scored 4 goals over 49 matches in 6 years with West Brom!!!! Can’t wait.

The CH we are reportedly interested in is behind the hun CB Helander for his national side, Helander is 4th choice for Sweden by the way.

  22. FORZA ITALIA…..!

A cracking game with Spain being unlucky.

The Italians on the break is something else.

My Pre tournament Bet of ITALY to win outright @ 8/1, is looking good as they are now 5/6 On…with Denamrk v Engerlund Tonight.

IF Demark WIN Tonight, I can see Italy becoming longer priced Favs at maybe 4/11 for the Final.

IF Engerlund reach the Final….I can see BOTH Teams being 10/11 or 5/6….as SQUIRE had already Posted earlier ?

My Bet of Italy to win 2-1 last night obviously went down sadly…but you cant win them all and I got a wee run for my money.

    FORZA ITALIA.

I’m also on the Italians to win the tournament my odds not quite as good as yours I got 7/1.

I also had them on to get to the final @4/1 so already in the black.

I thought the boy Olmo was fantastic.

It;s been an excellent tournament so far with only the English games and one or two of the group games disappointing.

All going well I’ll be watching the final in a bar in Crete with a temp of 25C or so, lovely.

  24. Good morning CQN

Bolingoli fate at Celtic park should be decided by Ange he is paid to manage the squad, Bolingoli should have been training in a historic season rather than having been given time off as far as I am concerned so good luck to him

I have respect for the way the England management and squad have handled themselves over the Euros, Gareth Southgate has rightly earned plaudits for his demeanour and achievements both on and off the pitch, they have had some luck on the way with games played at Wembley and the draw favouring them, its squeaky bum time tonight

  30. Exhausted, but thoroughly enjoyed the game last night. Some great comments on here from JHB and Borgo67, to name two, though plenty of others as well. Spain were tremendous and everything Italy would have expected.

Although Italy had an excellent tournament in 2012, the 4-0 defeat in the final to Spain was a big psychological obstacle for Italy, I believe, even though they are both new teams. It has been overcome and they can move on. Like Italy, Spain’s young players are going to feature significantly for years and be there or thereabouts in Qatar.

Italy need to suffer in tournaments and I was glad to see it; the fast flowing technically superb performance that has been their hallmark over the years and much more in this particular tournament is never enough.
