I was chastised by a pal last week when I suggested the Europa League was an irrelevance right now. “We are Celtic,” he said, “We have to be competing in every competition.” Indeed.
Earlier in the season Bologna were riding high in Serie A and the Europa League. A run of 12 games unbeaten put them in contention for a Champions League spot and qualification for the next round of the Europa. The latter is still a nailed-on certainty, but only one Serie A win since November has seen them slip to 8th. Form has pivoted south so abruptly you might be tempted to check if they recruited a management team from the MLS.
A win at bottom side Verona last Thursday provided respite, but (then) third from last Fiorentina took all three points when the teams met on Sunday. This is not a happy time for football fans from the ancient city.
While form may be poor, Bologna are significantly stronger than any side Celtic will face domestically. To leave with as much as a point will take our best performance since our last Europa League away game, in Rotterdam. Some of the players’ confidence will be fortified by recent performances at Atalanta and Lazio – both better sides that the one we face tonight. An interesting test lies ahead.

The BBC shortie bias has been ramped up a notch in recent weeks, wonder why, with Wilson in charge it’s been worse than ever.
Sometimes it’s subtle and other times it smacks you right on the face.
I use their online sports a lot as I’m interested in other sports , try to avoid the Scottish stuff but a headline will catch my eye .
If they can find a negative they will lead with it, fairly sure it’s a big laugh to them as it seems they have free rein to do as they please.
It’s a little more positive this morning as they’re using Martin’s quotes as the headline.
Last night it was all about sneaking’ a draw and clinging on desperately
BBC Scotland Sport report ” Celtic let a 2 goal lead slip away” por cierto
Tax payer funded bias.
Who is this Wilson ,that seems he is anti Celtic, what is his position in the BBC SPORTS DEPARTMENT.

I also find Connie mclaughlin the female equivalent of pat Nevin.
———-
Ageed. Very short, very talkative and very annoying. Has she announced yet that she’s a Hibs fan?
Excuse my ignorance, but who is Connie McLaughlin?
Does anyone know why BBC Scotland’s Sports Department is so rabidly anti-Celtic? It cannot be simply the obvious, surely in this day and age. Can it?
Good morning CQN
Another fine day to be a Celt
Well, that was more like it.
Martin O’Neill is a very clever man, a talented manager and our best leader in the dugout since Jock.
No wonder the Blue Broadcasting Corporation are running scared.
I hope absolutely everyone on here has a great day today.
Later ….

She’s the interviewer on TNT (Tims Not Tolerated). She’s actually not bad at her job.
BBC – it’s always the same old, same old. They are just good at hiding it – packed with ex-Huns and occasionally employing a token ex-Celt like Pat Bonner who plays into their hands, slagging off Celtic is his usual daft way. (I like Pat but he is either happy to go along with the agenda or just doesn’t get it).
I know a few boys who work in BBC sport – online and TV – and they are good Celtic men.
Pat Bonner is as good a football analyst as he was a goalkeeper.
He made maccoist into a superstar.
On his arse before a shot, like Dracula with crosses.
Great result last night.
I feel lucky to have watched Celtic being managed by MON twice.
I’d love to know what the players are saying about him.
Hopefully they are rested and good to go for Sunday 🤞🏼
Seriously, do we really care what the flawed BBC think. ?
Played 5s literally for decades with a good guy called Alan Wernham who ran Kilbowie Union. Alan was only interested in his own team but his brother Dougie in Alan’s words, hated Celtic and would as a matter of policy never employ anyone of a Celtic persuasion. He ran BBC Scotland Sport for around 20 years, including Sportsound and Sportscene…
Majestic Hartson – me too, it’s definitely better than in Wernham’s day… but the pro-Ibrox bias remains on balance. Dick Wilson is an absolute horror.
A great result last night, which could have been better but for an act of petulance.
We are without 3 of our top players and yet the Honda Civics proved they can perform.
Under chief mechanic MON the Civics definitely perform more efficiently when they are well-maintained, including regular servicing, proper tire inflation, and using the highest gear possible while on the ball. Additionally, adopting smooth driving habits, such as gentle acceleration and maintaining a steady speed, can significantly improve fuel efficiency and achieve results.
Planning the optimum route of course with correct and strategic lane assists helps us stay on track.
A few more GT additions to our fleet and we will be able to bin the outdated stop/ start technology and once more adopt efficient cruise control.
HH. The journey continues.
Sometimes I think quite a few on here live in a bubble.Connie Mc Laughlin is a mad Celtic fan,and when someone had an ounce of sense on Celtic TV,had her as presenter.Much detested by the inhabitants of FF.
Fek the BBCScotland. When they are like this, you know the rats are eating their insides.I will go with MONs description of the second yellow for Reo,”Innocuous”backing up my outrage last night.Shrinking Violets, and Pearl clutches, hold your ears.
TB
Do you go to any games over there?…Are you near to any top clubs?…
I’m sorry, but when you’re already on a yellow given by a Greek ref playing against an Italian team in Italy you have to be squeaky clean.
I think the fact we pay for it is good enough reason to be bothered by the BBC.
The contrast in the way we are reported on , and sometimes it’s fair, and Sevco is stark.
Connie’s timness shines out of her.

Agreed….
Any other ref would not deem that a bookable offence…unless you’d done it for a second time….a word of warning from the ref was the appropriate action to be taken…
Re BBC and their anti Celtic bias.I remember the Scottish Home service from yesteryear and the likes of George Davidson,Peter Thomson and David Francey whose leanings towards ‘them’ was no secret. There were more that provided commentary for BBC Scotland and their choice of favouites may not have been club 1872 but they were anti Celtic and the great comfort is quite a few lived through the great times Celtic enjoyed and how they suffered.

As bitter and subtle of his type I have ever seen.
Played a blinder for them in Covid season.
We have given him all he needs this season of course. Hopefully Martin and The guys can galvanise us to not worry about it going forward.
new article posted.

Remember Wilson well from that time. (Grand?) master of the doublespeak. Horror.
I can’t stand Pat Nevin – pseudo intellectual but I think Connie McLaughlin is excellent. She’s clever, knowledgeable and relaxes the people she’s interviewing by her chatty manner. She also hosts a BBC Radio programme on politics.
Is that Nicholson?I think that’s a lookalike.Too small.
Another dead giveaway,he looks a bit gormless.Oh,wait a minute.
Nah,not convinced. Just a Peely Wally Tally thinking,WTF.
