BOMBSHELL NEWS AS KYOGO FACES SEVEN GAMES OUT

CROCKED Kyogo Furuhashi could miss SEVEN games after being injured on international duty with Japan this week.

The £4.6million striker, who has scored seven goals in eight starts, faces a month-loan spell on the sidelines, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

Kyogo will be forced out of action at the same time Ange Postecoglou’s men face a hectic schedule of fixtures.

Already sources in his homeland have revealed they expect the 26-year-old forward to miss the next two World Cup qualifiers in four weeks’ time.

If that information proves to be accurate, Kyogo, who has been an instant hit with the Hoops fans since his late July arrival from the J-League outfit Vissel Kobe, will have to be overlooked for crucial Premiership and Europa League encounters as well as a League Cup-tie.

Obviously, the livewire raider’s absence will be a massive blow for Postecoglou who saw Odsonne Edouard join Crystal Palace on deadline day.

Kyogo was expected to take over the main striker’s role, but the way could now be open for the untested Giorgos Giakoumakis following his late £2.5million signing from Dutch club VVV-Venlo.

With Leigh Griffiths on loan at Dundee, that leaves the team with just Albian Ajeti as back-up and the Swiss international has hardly convinced since his £5million arrival from West Ham last summer. He has scored a mere six goals in over a year, but could now become a key player for Posetcoglou.

The Hoops face four Premiership games before the October international break, starting tomorrow against Ross County at Parkhead and followed by Livingston, Dundee United and Aberdeen.

They also kick off their Europa League bid with a match against Real Betis in Seville on Thursday and they take on Bayer Leverkusen a fortnight later.

Sandwiched in between those two glamour ties is the League Cup quarter-final against Raith Rovers in Glasgow on September 23.

Kyogo was crocked in Japan’s 1-0 win over China on Tuesday night and was forced to limp off with a knee injury five minutes into the second-half, as CQN reported.
